More, More and More Books!
Funded Nov 7, 2021Since our classroom is a dual language class with an emphasis on Spanish, it is not always easy to find books in our target language. I typically have to search for books in Spanish for a while online. My library is very sparse, and my students do not have enough books to read even though I know they love reading.
However, the books that were donated have helped my students have a variety of books to read. My students have enjoyed reading about Mo Williams author study books and have taken famous fiction stories home. One student says he likes to take Spanish books to practice Spanish with her sister, and now she is happy that she can read the books in Spanish as well. Some of the nonfiction books will be a great addition to our science, reading, and writing units.
Thank you so much for your donation! My students and I appreciate it so much.”

We Are Spanish Readers!
Funded Oct 11, 2021Thank you for your generous donation! My class and I are very grateful for your generosity. It is very kind of you to donate Spanish books during these uncertain times.
My students were delighted and excited to see that they have more books to read in Spanish. We immediately opened the boxes and prepared it all to begin reading in class. They enjoyed sitting and reading their new books. They were even more excited to see that they can read more than they thought in Spanish. Thank you for your donations.
We will make good use of the books as we are learning more and more strategies to read in Spanish too.
Thank you so much!”

Exciting Books We Can Read!
Funded Oct 11, 2021We are so grateful to have kind, awesome people like you! Our class consists of 22 hard-working, work-loving, happy children. They are enjoying their books and learning so much from them. They are diving into reading with these fiction and nonfiction books!
These texts are helping my students to build good reading habits such as using parts of the words to read, looking for word endings, paying attention to the beginning and ending of words, learning about compound words, taking sneak peeks, share information about the books or using keywords to learn more about non-fiction books among many others.
The nonfiction books are the most popular right now!
Thank you for always choosing our classroom to show kindness to you.
Without you, building our reading skills isn't possible.”

Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you for your generosity. I cannot tell you how valuable these materials are to our math curriculum. My students were so excited to see all these new materials for them and start experimenting right away. I'm happy to experience how these materials are utilized, and I know they are improving my students with many fun ways to make math come alive.
The pop and add games are setting up the foundation for addition coming up soon in our curriculum; the measurement centers came just on time for our measuring unit, and the nuts about counting had become everyone's favorite. The kids are so pleased to have such a great math center this year!!! We are so lucky to have special donors like you to help us grow and learn throughout kindergarten. Thanks to you, many more Kindergarten classes will be able to use these resources in years to come."”

Funded Sep 23, 2019This is a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my Art project. The Art easel and a variety of materials have changed our art center. Now my students are happy to go and explore the materials.
Without your help, my students would not have had these vital materials in our Kindergarten classroom. When I showed my students the new materials, they were excited to begin exploring them in the class projects and also during center time. Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in New York would go without. I plan to continue using these materials throughout the rest of the school year with much freedom to explore and enhancing their creativity.
I am especially excited to continue working with my kindergarteners during instruction time but also during their free art time in my classroom.”

Spanish Books for My Bilingual Kindergarteners
Funded Nov 28, 2018We cannot thank you enough for your contribution to our classroom. We thank you for giving us a variety of books to choose from. Thanks to all of you my students are enjoying Read aloud in Spanish. This resource allows them to improve their reading skills.
My students are still novice in the Spanish language and are benefiting tremendously from your books donations. They are learning about the culture because they are authentic Spanish material. The books are age-appropriate, and many of my students can relate to them and identify with.
The books are enhancing comprehension and current reading levels. Kindergarten classes usually have students reading Spanish by the end of the year. The inspiration for the new Spanish books got my students so excited that many of them were reading in Spanish by January 2019. My students, who are tested in both English and Spanish, immensely benefit from our sets of reading books. They are so delighted to see their classroom library grow!”

A Big Screen for My Little Learners!
Funded Oct 16, 2018We would like to thank you again for providing my classroom with additional technical support. Thanks to your donations my students have access to more information across the content areas. We have been reading books in English and Spanish, and watching informational videos to improve our social skills. Additionally, we have been creating booklets and printing charts to enhance our reading and writing skills and practicing to become better readers and writers.
Technology should be integrated, not as a separate subject or as a once-in-a-while project, but as a tool to promote and extend student learning on a daily basis.
We can't thank you enough.”
