You Can Count on Math!
Funded Sep 16, 2013My students were very excited to receive these new math center games and activities.
We use the materials during our math center time. While I get a chance to work with students in small groups, students finish their math practice pages and then move on to a math center or activity.
They are able to play many different types of math games that are developing and supporting their learning in class with counting, number recognition, and number sense. Later in the year, they will be able to use the operations games.
These games have really helped to engage all students in learning about numbers, while I help to improve other students' abilities in math.”

Puzzle Play
Funded Aug 26, 2013Thank you so much for your donation to this project. My students were very happy to receive these wooden puzzles. All were very eager to use the puzzles during independent work time.
During independent work time, I am able to work with students in small groups, while other students work in cooperative groups at literacy centers. The wooden puzzles are one of these literacy centers where students can use their skills to put together phonemic awareness puzzles and puzzles depicting children with disabilities doing everyday things.
These puzzles help their mind work as they decide where puzzle pieces belong to make a whole picture. The puzzles are also great for kids working together. These wooden pieces are great for small hands too!”

Sand Play
Funded Aug 21, 2013Thank you so much for your donation to our class project. My students were very excited to receive the sand center sand and manipulatives and even more excited to finally get to use it.
During our Kindergarten activity time outside, my students get to use the sand center in cooperative words. Together they play and explore with the sand and the different manipulative, including letter and number shells, sifters, and tunnels.
They enjoy running their fingers through the sand and learning about the properties of sand. They use their sense to understand how sand feels and what sand can and cannot do. Students also learn to share and be cooperative as they take turns playing with the materials.
It truly is a favorite center for the kids.”

Nook-tastic Learning
Funded Feb 27, 2013I would like to express my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. Slowly but surely, we are updating the technology in our classroom.
The Nooks you have helped to donate to our classroom have been a big hit. The kids love playing with them. I have downloaded a variety of learning games. They practice letter sounds, high frequency words, and reading. They also use it for playing number games and other learning activities. In addition, they are able to use it for internet use where they can log in to educational websites that they currently use in the classroom.
As I said, the Nooks have been loved and greatly used. I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation and care for our classroom and education in general.”

Extras Make Learning Fun
Funded Mar 6, 2013Thank you very much for your donation to my classroom. Your donations helped to supply my students with a variety of new learning games and activities. They have absolutely loved using everything that we received thanks to your donation!
During our independent work time, students find a game or activity to play with others. It's so nice to see them working together and having fun while reinforcing their skills. We have also had many opportunities to play our alphabet and picture Bingo games as a class and in small groups. I have seen an improvement in language and phonemic awareness. The highlighting tape is also a favorite item. Students are always eager to use it to highlight our words of the week or sound of the week words.
Again, all the materials have been widely used and enjoyed. I can't thank you enough for caring my students and education in general.”

Let's Get Techical!
Funded Nov 21, 2012I am so thankful for your generous donation to my class project. The Nooks have been a big hit with my students. They are used daily and in a variety of ways. I downloaded many educational games, where my students get phonics, reading, math, and thinking skills practice. Sometimes they play alone, but usually they gather around and work together. It makes me so happy that they work cooperatively and that they enjoy learning.
I am truly grateful that you have helped to bring updated technology into classroom. It makes a big difference for my students.
Again, thank you so much!”

Come Into My Comfy Classroom
Funded Aug 30, 2012Thank you very much for your generous donation to my classroom. The materials you helped supply have made truly made our classroom a more welcoming and comfortable place.
After the materials were delivered, my students walked in and "oohed" and "aahed" at all the new supplies. They loved seeing their classroom puppets displayed and ready for use. During independent work time, they love to grab a cushion and find a place to play their reading and writing games. The bean bag is also a favorite hangout to read with a friend and the ocean rug adds vibrant colors to our classroom library. Finally, we have been using the write & wipe frames for interviewing. The kids really enjoy getting to know one another.
Again, your thoughtfulness and generosity are really appreciated!”

Funded Jun 20, 2012Your generous donations have made a big difference in my classroom. I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful materials that you have helped to supply to my students.
During independent work time, my students now have a wide variety of activities they could partake in, all while building their reading and writing skills. The students really enjoy the whiteboards and dry erase markers for drawing pictures and writing words. They love the word building puzzles and the write and wipe reading boards. The reading box sets also really help to hone their sound skills.
Honestly, all the materials have made such an impact in my classroom. Everyone always has something to do. The students are able to use them individually and I also use them with small groups for a more guided practice.
Again, thank you very much!”

Let's Get Movin'
Funded Apr 6, 2012I want to thank you so much for your generous donation to my project. Because of you, my students have numerous activities and manipulatives to use during physical education/ free play time. They cheer with joy every chance they get to play with the parachute, the balls, the bowling game, the bean bag toss and the wrist bands. All of these items motivate my students to move, have fun, and get off of their feet. In addition, these items help to teach my students to share and work cooperatively. Not only do these items keep their bodies in motion, but they help to alleviate their "work day stress".
As the number of overweight children rises, I'm very happy that my students have an opportunity to run, play, and exercise their bodies. Without your donation, my students have limited resources to keep them moving.
My current students, future students, and I thank you very much!”

Funded Jan 29, 2012I cannot thank you enough for the painting resources your generous donations have funded for my classroom.
My class absolutely loves the painting center!!! It is used on a daily basis by multiple students during independent work time. Thanks to your donations, my students have everything they need to create wonderful pieces of art. They love all the color choices, and especially like the coordination of paintbrush colors to paint cups. My students have also become responsible and independent by learning to clean up their paint messes and placing their art in the drying rack.
Again, my students and I really appreciate your help in bringing more art back into the classroom.
Thanks so much!”

Ms. Esparza
