Flexible seating ( wobbly chairs, floor pads, desk mats) will help my students do their best work both individually and in their project groups for STEAM education and High Quality Project Based Learning. Part of STEAM education and HQPBL includes group work the majority of the time. Flexible seating allows my students to move around often and work with their classmates in a comfortable manner. I have 29 students who have been doing amazing with high quality project based learning and STEAM education. While we have been doing amazing things in the classroom with the resources we have, there are many things my students are lacking to be able to work collaboratively and collectively. We have implemented flexible seating and would love help with seats that reflect the choice and flexibility that our unique students need. Nearly half of my students come from low income families. Some of my students also have unique learning needs. All of our projects have a focus on our environment. For example, our first project is an action plan that includes the students participating in some kind of effort to curb the human impact on pollution, specifically global warming. Thank you in advance for supporting me with helping create the classroom to continue helping my students excel.
