Supplies Surprise!
Funded Dec 20, 2014Thank you so much for your donations so that our class can have enough paper and ink for the rest of the school year and will hopefully carry out into next school year also. My students have low functioning autism and printing in color for visuals is highly beneficial. Because of your donations, we are able to print out pictures of real animals for our science units. We also started making social stories for our students to learn from their own actions. They are all very excited for the projects they have had and projects to come because of your donations. I can not thank you enough!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lau
Sense of Touch
Funded Jul 8, 2014Your generous donations has help with my students so much. I have created a new sensory area for my students. They love the moon sand as they can stick their hands in it to soothe them. We have created a couple projects using the model magic and it is just so fun to see them finally interact with materials!
The most helpful items of all is the pressure vest and weighted blanket. Many of my students have trouble with body awareness and the vest and blanket has definitely helped them stay in their seats for longer periods of time.
The abc shells and numbers has allowed for us to create more hands on group work and it has been amazing to see my students grow so much academically with these materials! Thank you so much for your kind donations, it is very much appreciated and I can't thank you enough!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lau

Funded Dec 27, 2013My students were so excited to receive the puzzles and sensory toys. I got to use the sensory toys right away. A few of my students have high sensory needs and sometimes bite others and themselves, a lot of them pinches and squeezes their classmates and teachers to get the sensory input. Since we received the toys and teaching them to appropriately use them, these behaviors have significantly decreased.
The puzzles are helping a lot with learning to recognize letters and to pre-teach. We haven't had a chance to get through all the puzzles yet because some are harder than others but the ones that we did start using, the students are reacting very well to them. I am using some of them to teach during one to one lesson to help them recognize letters and shapes.
My students are all very high sensory needs and these items that were donated by all of you are greatly appreciated! The frequency of my students disruptive behaviors have been decreasing significantly and their ability to engage and sit during a lesson have been increasing. I can not thank you all enough for the generous donations.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lau
