Since most of my students are low income and their parents are working just to make ends meet they do not have a lot of reading material at home. My goal is to get Scholastic News and Scholastic Science Spin subscriptions for my class so that I can send it home for them to use with their Homework and to supplement our classroom reading. One of my students told me he only has one book at home that he has read so much it's falling apart. I want to be able to offer my students an interesting magazine that they can take home to read with their families.
