• Art Club Making Preparations for the Winter Show

  My students were so excited the day the boxes with the materials arrived. You should have heard all the oohs and ahs when they opened the boxes and saw high-quality art supplies. They got to work right away! You can see some examples of their work in the pictures below.

• Getting the Art Room Ready for an Amazing School Year!

  Thank you so much for supporting our project. Your donations have really made a difference in the work my students and I do. So far we are having an amazing year in the art room!

  The students were so excited to see the new cushions and soft chair for flexible seating. My students love placing the seating in spaces they feel works best for them. I have seen an increase in engagement and creativity as a result of the flexible seating.

  The students are grateful for the new technology your donation provided. The kids are frequently using the printer to make copies of their artwork. The students are using the iPad to explore art topics and art activities. The case ensures that I will have the iPad to use with current and future students. In the next few months, my students will use the iPad to make digital records of their progress in art.

  My students are appreciative for the tools your donation helped us to purchase. These new materials are giving my students choice and voice in their learning so they can reach their highest potential. We are so grateful! Thank you!”

• Creating the Best Self-Portraits

  Thank you so much for your generous donation towards Self-Portrait Mirrors and art supplies. Every student gasped with delight when they saw the new materials in our art room.

  It was so fun watching our students — from Prek to the fifth grade— become fully immersed in the study of themselves as they spent a good amount of time looking at themselves in the mirrors. After a thoughtful study, our students were able to capture and draw the details of their face and hair with great success. The students used the mirrors to create beautiful self- portraits. As a result, the students not only increased a deeper understanding of themselves and their own beauty but also developed a heighten awareness for the beauty of others.

  These Self-Portrait Mirrors will be used with every grade, and for many years to come! Thanks for your support!”

• Fostering 21st Century Learners

  Funded May 30, 2017

  Thank you for your generous donation Your donation helped our school purchase a new laptop and an iPad for the art room. This new technology supports our students' explorations of art in exciting ways. For example, the fifth graders are currently learning about the American artist, Winslow Homer. Our students were asked to explore his paintings before creating their own. I heard many oohs and ahhs as the children looked closely at his seascapes on the iPad and Smart Board. A viewing of Homer's work certainly inspired some amazing artwork from our students

  The children are super excited about using the iPad independently. The photographs capture this excitement. The iPad brings the art world to our students finger tips and taps into their natural way of learning. The students are creating some beautiful artwork in the digital world.
