  • My Safe Space!

    Funded Sep 30, 2024

Thank you to all those who donated to this project! These six options for flexible seating will provide me with many opportunities to make my classroom more inviting, warmer and safer. There are so many things teachers would like to do in their classrooms and, with your support, we are able to do them!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • Stressed About Math!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

    Dear Donor's,

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and students by donating to this project. Students are often stressed in math class and, although it might sound silly, a stress ball or fidget toy can go a long way to helping them feel more comfortable. You have no idea how much this will help!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • Learn in Stylus!

    Funded Aug 27, 2020

This project being funded was immensely helpful to our students. It started out as a project due to COVID and students needing to write on their screens at home. The district gave each student a device but I teach math and it was difficult for them to draw figures and label items with just their finger. With the stylus, they were able to draw more neatly and they were able to fine tune their labeling and any writing on the figures.

I received many stylus pens and they have continue to help us over the last few years as well. Students are still using their devices and now are able to use the stylus with highlighting, labeling, drawing, selecting items on digital programs, and many more things. It also helps our students with fine motor skills issues and is helpful for some of our special education students.

Without your help, all of these students who have been helped, would have struggled greatly with all these technological issues. You have no idea of the impact you have made and it is deeply appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • Scholastic Math for Math Scholars!

    Funded Apr 29, 2013

I want to thank you all for your donations to our Scholastic Math for Math Scholars Project. We just started receiving our magazines and the students are very excited about them.

We recently did a lesson on scientific notation and the students found an article on Micro Worlds. My students got a chance to see how microbiologists use scientific notation to deal with "water bears" and nano flowers. Too often they do not get the chance to see how math is used in the real world and this was a perfect example.

Teachers, such as myself and my collegues, are so grateful that there are donors like yourselves that believe in what we do for students. We need the supplies you provide us with to reach all of our students. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and let all of you know that we could not do this without you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • More Access to Math Mentoring!

    Funded Aug 13, 2012

I am writing this letter to thank the three of you for donating to our project. The table has arrived and we are already using it during 4 to 5 periods of the day. The table is being used for student help, student conferencing and as a space for students to work together. The students are so excited to be finally using it.

Our district budget is extremely tight and without donors such as yourselves, we would not be able to provide furniture for the students that could truly help with their access to help from myself or the other students. The more functional the furniture in the room is, the better the students can work with each other and any of the teachers in the room.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for your donations. We, as a classroom and a school, appreciate all the help from your donations and truly could not accomplish what we do without your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • Getting Back to 1 Squared!

    Funded Jan 1, 2012

I want to thank you again for the materials that your donations helped to provide for my students. We used the Eggspert Wireless Controllers to review for a test the other day and the students absolutely loved them. All of the classes were asking when they would be using them again! The bingo games and the jeopardy boards were also some of the favorites of the students.

Along with the games, the activity books that were purchased are a huge help since the school system has very limited funds with which to buy outside supplements to our current curriculum. These games and activities provide and alternative way of learning math and most students find the games and activities easier to understand than notes and examples.

I want to thank you again on behalf of my students and myself. Without the materials provided by donors like yourselves, my students would not be able to have as much success, and fun, with math!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • Easy Pathways To Algebra

    Funded Jul 8, 2011

Thank you so much for the wonderful items that you have purchased for the children in my classroom. I cannot express my gratitude enough and the children are loving the games and activities we have received. The equation keys have been extremely useful in helping my students with their integer facts and the Equate board game has helped them improve their understanding of equations. All of the students have been able to enjoy the different items that you have provided.

Our school's budget has been cut every year and it has deeply affected our ability to help our students by providing them with essential supplements to their day to day curriculum. The money you donated for our project has provided an extremely valuable resource for them and we truly cannot thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • Bringing The Real World To Math Class!

    Funded Feb 10, 2011

I wanted to write this note and thank all of you for your support and donations to our project. I cannot tell you how much the children have enjoyed using all of the materials that were sent to us through this project. We have started reteaching classes called STAR classes, which is one place where we can use all of these extra resources, and the students absolutely love coming. They are far more interested in math now that they see a connection to their lives and the fact that they can learn math while having fun.

With education and city budgets being cut more and more every year, the students would never have access to all of these important additional resources that create such a vital connection to math education for them. I truly don't have enough words to thank all of you for your support. I can only hope that you understand what a difference you have made in the education and enrichment of my students. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews

  • Make Math Easier!

    Funded Dec 21, 2009

I want to thank you so much for your donation which helped us purchase a new classroom set of calculators. My students are so excited to have calculators that are in great working condition and I am excited that I now have enough for all of my students. Our school has had its budget cut over the past several years and without your donation, we would not have been able to buy these calculators.

The MCAS test will be coming up in a few months and these calculators will provide an extra boost for the students because there are now enough and they are in perfect condition. The kids are really looking forward to using them.

I also wanted to convey a message from my students. They were amazed and honored that someone who didn't know them would be willing to donate money to a project they came up with. They are very thankful that there are people out there like yourself that care enough about our kids and their education that you donated supplies that will help them increase their chances at success.

Thank you again for all of your support and help!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Andrews
