My students genuinely enjoy learning through inquiry. They answer and develop challenging questions that require critical thinking, empathy, and a growth mindset. My students are especially eager to engage in such problem-solving throughout their reading. They use strategies for reading that help them continue their passion for reading and use their understanding of texts for a deeper understanding of other subjects. They learn about their strengths and weaknesses as learners through text, character, plot, and theme analysis. They also collaborate in Socratic seminar discussions to share their understanding of text and media and propose questions to each other that enrich the classroom's learning experience. This group of learners also loves assessing their knowledge to develop agency in their learning. They are always eager for new learning opportunities!
