These books and materials will help my students learn to get comfortable and confident in reading, allowing them to see themselves in lots of different stories. By creating a warm and cozy atmosphere, we can help lower anxiety levels and focus on the important elements of reading and learning. Having accessible furniture will also allow students and staff of all sizes and ability levels to learn and connect without pain or distraction. With these new books, my students will have access to a wide range of diverse stories that will catch their interest and spark their love of reading. The best way to increase reading ability is with practice, practice, practice. And the best way to get students to practice is to provide them books that interest them and that they enjoy reading, as well as a safe, comfortable place to read them. My students are already developing interest in independent reading, and I want to keep that momentum going!
