  • Protect The Tech

    Funded Feb 24, 2025

Thank you again for your support of our building. The iPad cases are giving our students the opportunity to start exploring the world of graphic design and video game design. We were lucky enough to have the iPads in the building but we had no protection system and did not have the funds to get them. As a result, they had been sitting in a cart. Now, we are able to get them out and into students hands.

From designing their own cartoons, to developing educational video games, to learning videography skills, this tech will be a great asset to the students' education. Thank you again for your help in making these projects a possibility and I can't wait to share the work!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Discenza

  • Projecting Our Creations

    Funded Nov 26, 2024

Thank you for supporting our classroom and helping to give students a way to share their work with their classmates. Having the projector has not only allowed for students to share but also opened our classroom up to the bigger coding community.

One of the opportunities the students have experienced was being able to connect with students all over the country in a national coding opportunity. Without the projector, students would not have been able to participate.

We are very thankful for your kindness and helping make moments happen for our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Discenza

  • Putt Putt for Coding Success

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you for your continued support of my students and our classroom. This year we are undertaking one of our biggest projects yet and it is all thanks to your support. Having the materials our students need readily available allows them to, and Ms. Frizzle likes the say, "Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy". I am so thankful to have a room where students feel comfortable in taking risks with their ideas and learning from those that do and do not work.

The materials from this project are going towards students designing their own mini golf holes which will eventually be used for our field day. The turf and tubing are crucial parts and are going to allow their projects to come to life. Thank you again for making this dream project a reality!”

    With gratitude,

  • Printing Our Passions

    Funded May 16, 2024

I am so excited to have the students start using our new printer this coming school year. I can't wait to watch as they explore the possibilities and make new creations.

Over the last few years, many of my students have been interested in using our Cricut to cut vinyl to make designs on shirts, frames, and many other platforms. This printer and ink will allow them to take much more complex designs and put them out into the world. It is a great next step for them as they mature in our technology program. I am already astounded at what they design, now they will be able to share it beyond our classroom.

Thank you again for you continuous support of my students. Please know it doesn't go unnoticed!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Discenza

  • Can You Hear Me Now??

    Funded May 6, 2024

Thank you all for your generous support in helping group our musical production program. The new sound board is going to make such a large impact on every show and school event that we host going forward. We had some of our older students set up the board to do a sound check and start learning how to use it and the pure joy on their faces was simply wonderful to watch.

Your kindness to this project is not just a one time gift, but something that will be felt and appreciated for years to come. This board is used for every assembly, performance, guest speaker, and show we do in our school. The production value we can now have to showcase our students talents has just been greatly elevated thanks to you!”

  • Cubes for Coding

    Funded Mar 5, 2024

Thank you for your continued support of my students. Giving them these unique opportunity to learn truly makes our school stand apart. In addition, it allows my students to have learning opportunities that are out of the norm and are sure to be ones to remember. From K students to 8th, every class that has come into my room has been so excited about the Rubik's cubes. The chance for them to learn this new skill but also tie it back to the basics of computer coding is a great way to spark interest in students who may learn better off of a computer screen. Thank you for giving them this chance!”

  • Charging to Discovery

    Funded Feb 14, 2024

It may seem like a simple project but it already has been making a large impact. Thank you for funding our new charging stations. The organization and peace of mind they have brought to my room is helping take a large mental load off my plate. These charging stations have indication lights that easily let me see across the room if our tech is ready to go for class as well as if something is missing. By not having to plug and unplug multiple outlets a class to make sure everything is ready is also a huge time saver that allows me to focus on more important things with the students. Thank you again for your help and making this project happen!”

    With gratitude,

  • Dashing Into Learning

    Funded Feb 3, 2024

Thank you so much to the State of CT for helping get robotics back into my classroom. The students already are over joyed to start working with our Dash bots and exploring the world of code come to life. It makes a huge difference for students to see something happen on their screen versus seeing it move in their world.

Having opportunities like this are only possible by your generous support. As a result, many students are getting opportunities to experience things that can't be done out side of a school setting. For some, they won't have another opportunity in their lives to use robotics like this. You never know which kid might have their imagination sparked as a result and now want to explore the world of computer science. Thank you for making that happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Discenza
