My students and I are very thankful for your generous donations towards this amazing new technology. The new laptop is amaizing. We are able to do access many educational programs for Visual Arts, such as Learn to Draw, ABCya Story Maker, and Pixel Art. Visual arts designs produced by these websites/apps keeps students engaged and motivated throughout the day. We are also able to access daily core curriculum subjects (English Language Arts and Mathematics) videos with ease. Thank You for this awesome opportunity.”

  • Computer Art for Future Artist!

    Funded May 30, 2013

I would like to express my appreciation to everyone who made funding my project before the deadline. I was very excited to let my students know we were receiving a state of the art all in one computer. They were a little sad because we received it on the last day of the school year. We did not waste any time, my T.A. and I quickly set it up. My students were able to watch educational videos before they left for Summer vacation. As the new school year begins, I can't wait for the countless opportunities my new kindergrtners will get using the new computer.

    Thank you,

    Daisy Fernandez”

  • It's Time for An Epson!

    Funded Mar 11, 2013

Thank you so much for all your generous donations that made getting a new Epson projector possible. With your help I have technology to assist me in teaching and engaging my students in everyday lessons. This allows them to deepen their understanding of grade level common core standards. My students get excited about interacting with sight words, math problems, and/or videos projected on the white board. Our classroom projector is an essential everyday tool that makes teaching worry free.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fernandez

  • A is for Apple, B is for Ball, C is for Caterpillar!

    Funded Dec 7, 2012

I admire the strength and generosity of LilySarahGrace's Family. Because of their tragedy they have helped thousands of children through the arts.

I was very excited to have received all the art supplies that will help my students create a variety of crafts to bring the alphabet to life. By using these materials, my students will create animals, characters, and objects that will give them a deeper understanding of the alphabet. We have already begun using some of the alphabet stamps. Students used the letter "O" to create octopus and put them in our classroom ocean.

I want to "Thank You" for funding my classroom project. My students are very excited to create their "Alphabet Craft".”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fernandez

  • Computer Time!

    Funded Dec 27, 2011

I want to say "Thank You" for everyone's generous donations in receiving our classroom laptop. Our new laptop moved our classroom closer into the 21st Century in technology. Students were excited to use the laptop in the classroom. They were able to play mathematics and language arts games. They were also able to view every Math and language arts Topic Opener video. We were also able to project instructional material from the laptop to the white board for the entire class to view.

Once again Thank you all for your generous donation.”

  • Bullying in Kindergarten? She's Not My Friend!

    Funded Feb 22, 2012

I am truly grateful for your generous donations in fully funding "Bullying in Kindergarten?" I have seen more and more inappropriate interaction between 5 and 6 year Olds and I believe intervention needs to begin now! I can't wait to begin reading the Bullying stories to my class. They will have a better understanding of what a bully is and how to deal with a bully. My students will develop self confidence to say "NO" to Bullying! Once again, Thank you for your donation!”

  • Hands on with ABC's

    Funded Dec 6, 2011

I want to begin by saying Thank You, for your generous donation. In just 4 weeks my students have improved by simply playing games! Last Friday, I stopped my lesson to listen to 2 students as they looked for the initial letter of each picture. One of the students (a student at grade level) was helping the other student (the struggling student). I could hear student "A" tell student "B", AAApple, What letter is AAAA? and student B would repeat AAAApple "A". I looked at my teacher assistant with a smile and she also listened to them and didn't interrupt their moment. Just this afternoon, my intervention coordinator told me, "Whatever you are doing is working!", all the students she tested (progress monitored) today improved!

Fridays have become "Game Days." My T.A. works with a small group every Friday and introduces a new game to them. I don't think my students realize that they are learning to read by playing these games. All of this would not have been possible without your donations. I want to let you know that in 4 weeks they have already shown improvement. THANK YOU! ”

  • We Can't Hear the Chants, Rhymes, or Songs!

    Funded Feb 2, 2012

I want to say Thank You, to everyone who was generous enough to donate to my classroom's project. I can't wait to get the listening center set up in the classroom. All my students are going to benefit having a listening center in the classroom. My struggling students will get the opportunity to listen to rich vocabulary through stories without me reading to them. My beginner readers will be able to read along with the audio. Having a listening center in my classroom is going to improve reading in my classroom. Thank you! ”

  • Let Us Print!

    Funded Jan 27, 2012

I want to say, Thank You, to every single person who took the time to donate to my classroom. In this economy, and with these severe budget cuts, I would not be able to supply my class with the technology needed for daily necessities . I am extremely excited that my class will have access to a printer at any minute during the school day.

I can't wait to share with my students that our printer is funded! Once again, Thank You!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fernandez

There is so much emphasis on Common Core Standards, Academic Rigor, and District Assessments that we sometimes forget about the students emotional being. I sometimes step back to realize my students are just 5 years old! To some students this is their "first" school experience, other students desire attention not received at home, and others seek love from an adult. I have come to realize that not only am I their teacher who teaches them academics, but I'm also teaching them social/emotional skills. Lately, I have had to teach students what it means to have good manners. Some of my students come from a household where parents work very long hours. These students do not have the privilege of interacting with their parents on a daily basis. My biggest challenge is meeting the needs of "every" student. It becomes difficult when one student seeks attention and at the other spectrum students seek to be challenged!
