  • Our First Grade Classroom Calming Area

    Funded May 23, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous support in helping my class develop a calming corner in our classroom. My students were excited to witness me unpacking all of the books, calming tools, furniture and decorations that are part of our calming corner. They have learned to take care of all and make use of our materials and are slowly beginning to use the calming corner as a place of respite and safety. Students are developing improved and more appropriate social skills and are practicing communicating appropriately with peers and adults. They are learning to be more respectful and responsible.”

  • Games, Games, Games

    Funded Sep 7, 2023

Thank you very much for your kind and generous support of public education. Because of your support my students have access to new language arts, math, science, ELD, and art activities and games that they are able to use independently and in small groups. Having access to activities available on Teachers Pay Teachers has helped reduce the time I spend outside of the workday creating file folder games and other projects and has opened up time for me to do other things. Your support it grateful appreciated!!”

  • Charging Our iPads

    Funded May 16, 2023

Thank you very much for supporting my students and public education. Without your generous donations, I would not be able to provide my students with materials or access to education without worrying about inadequate supplies. If our students are required to access technology and complete tasks on their ipads or laptops, it should also be assumed that they always have access to chargers and that their are no limitations to charging devices. With your support, my class and I are now able to charge our ipads whenever needed. Thank you so much!!!!”

  • Quiet Chairs

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous support of public education and this project. I believed a generous gift of tennis balls for chair legs would curtail the sound effects of chairs scraping across the classroom floor. Unfortunately, I was sent only 1 package of 4 balls instead of 25 sets of 4 balls. The order was not corrected and instead, Amazon provided a refund. My project replacement order included new classroom books, Pete the Car plushies for students to take home, and Pete the Cat posters displaying letters, numbers, colors, shapes, Months of the Year, Days of the Week, etc. that are decorating our classroom environment. My students are grateful for your generous and very kind support.”

  • Math and Science Exploration

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you very much for your generous support of public education. My students and I are grateful for your support in helping us to acquire black printer ink. Your gift came at the most opportune moment. Both copy machines at our school site have been out or order quite frequently this school year. The printer ink has helped me provide my students with much needed copies of math word problem journals and science and narrative writing journal pages as well as copies for holiday craft projects. Your support in providing my class with printer ink has helped alleviate stress.”

  • First Grade Artists

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

Thank you very much for your generous support of public education. Your monetary support helped me and my students to acquire construction paper and tissue paper of all colors and shades. My previous students and current students have used the paper to create books where they tear or cut shapes to build pictures such as pumpkins, zoo animals, and portraits. Having access to colored paper has enabled students to create extremely vibrant and lively pictures. They are proud of their creations and enjoy sharing them with peers and family members. Once again, thank you for playing a role in the success of my students.”

  • Digital Assignments

    Funded May 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous support of my students as they fought hard to focus, learn, and meet grade level standards. Your monetary support helped me acquire many grade level reading fluency and comprehension practice pages from Teachers Pay Teachers which in turn helped many of my students meet benchmark standards in the reading fluency portion of their end of the year reading assessment. Students were able to read independently and with partners in order to build fluency. They enjoyed collaborating and supporting peers. Once again, thank you for playing a part in their success.”

  • Upgrading Technology

    Funded Jan 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous support and believing in public education. Unfortunately, we were unable to acquire a projector because they are all out of stock. We ordered student sized whiteboards as replacement items. My students and I are grateful for your donation. We have used the whiteboards for math and language arts instruction and they serve as makeshift clipboards when we visit the campus habitat to draw sketches. We are super grateful for the adapter we received which allows me to connect a newer Macbook model to devices with only usb and hdmi ports. Thank you for helping me make my classroom 100% inclusive and run.”

  • First Grade Projections

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you so very much for your generous support in acquiring a new laptop computer for my classroom. For the last few months, I have been able to leave projections on a screen for my students for as long as they need them. Students are able to engage in exercise and dance videos throughout the school day. I am able to use the older laptop to prepare and print practice pages for students while they interact with the projections. Thank you so much for helping me create a classroom where students feel empowered and cared for.”

My kindergarten students live in a low income urban city. They attend a primary center that consists of only 6 kindergarten classroom. 90% of them are English Language Learners and only 40% of them demonstrate proficiency in their home languages. 100% qualify for free/reduced priced lunches. At the outset of the school year, many of my students possess inadequate fine motor, social, behavioral, and academic skills. Many of them have never participated in an organized group or classroom setting. They are separated from their parents and families for the first time. Every year, these students work diligently to become independent, think critically, meet and exceed academic standards, and to have a blast in class. My students become passionate learners, asking and answering questions and challenging one another. They also learn to be compassionate- caring for their peers, families, and campus. They love being at school.
