My students need iPads and durable cases to increase their motivation to learn and to personalize lessons for their individual needs. As a special education teacher, I have to differentiate in order for my students to be successful. The integration of new technologies and literacies are future oriented, encourage mastery of new literacies and high levels of student engagement. While I was working toward my M.Ed, I took many courses that outlined the importance of technology and the different ways it could be used to support students reading and the teaching of reading. In today's world it is extremely relevant to be technologically literate. It is important to use technology in a way that is engaging, yet beneficial. Many of my students lack technology in their homes; for this reason, I would like to use it in my classroom. I strongly believe that the use of technology now will benefit them in the future.
