  • We Need Books that Motivate Discussion

    Funded Sep 14, 2018

Thank you so very much for your kind and generous donations. The books and other materials have made a great impact on my students. Many of them have not yet developed a love for reading. I asked for books that would truly spark their imagination and interest. My students have read, "The War with Grandpa" and they truly enjoyed it.

While reading the book, we discussed the story elements such as character, setting, problem and solution. While reading the book, we were also writing our own fiction stories. The students were able to transfer what they learned while reading, to their own writing. We are now discussing the theme of the book and deciding on different projects we can do to showcase what we learned while reading.

It is because of your generous donation that we were able to have such a great experience while reading. Thank you so much for making a huge impact on my students' learning experience.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DaCosta

  • Color Printer Needed to Create Our Published Work!

    Funded Jun 8, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Your gift has changed the dynamics of my classroom. Many of my students do not have a printer at home. They are unable to add graphics, images or color to their published work. Because of you, this has changed.

My students are learning how to add graphics. They are learning how to resize documents so that they can fit on a page. They are learning how to create PDF files, and how to use the scanner to scan photos that they want to include in their work. I have students in the class who make copies, and print from their flash drives. This may all seem simple to most, but to my students, it is a game changer. They have learned skills that can be used in the work force.

Thank you again for making a difference in my teaching experience, and in the educational experience of this year's class, and my future classes.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DaCosta

  • My Students Need a Wireless Color Printer!

    Funded Apr 3, 2016

Technology is an integral part of every classroom. Having a classroom color printer has enabled my students to produce, and publish beautiful work. My students are able to add colorful pictures to their writing. This has made them so excited about their published pieces.

Students who are excited, and proud of their work will want to work harder, and this will enable them to produce better writing. The best part about this is that every student I teach will benefit from the new technology in our classroom.

My students with learning disabilities and my ELL newcomers have especially warmed to the new technology. They are excited that they can add new features and details to help present their writing. This has given these students great pride in their work.

I cannot thank you enough for your donation. This printer has opened so many doors, and given me so many ideas to help my students learn and present their beautiful work.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DaCosta
