Learning in the Kitchen
Funded Apr 14, 2012I know I have thanked you already for opening your generous heart to my students. Your donation has not only impacted my classroom with supplies it has also shown my students the value of being generous and gracious.
I wish I had captured the looks on my studentsâ faces when I told them that they were going to go on a trip to the Young Chef's Academy. They were so excited that not only were they going to have an amazing experience on their trip, but also that people they had never met cared enough to allow them to have this trip.
From the moment we walked into the brightly painted kitchen of the Young Chef's Academy, to eating the food they helped cook, until coming back to school and telling everyone about their awesome trip, smiles never left any of their faces.
I am posting a few pictures of our experience to show you how wonderful it truly was. Because of the donations made to Donor's Choose some of my students may now be inspired to become chefs or bakers in the future. Because of your compassion and generosity my students have now become life long learners”

There is a Fun Way to Learn!
Funded Oct 2, 2010I know I have thanked each of you already for opening your generous heart to my students. I hope their thank you notes and cards, though simple, show you as well the impact you have made. Your donations have not only impacted my classroom with supplies it has also shown my students the value of being generous and gracious.
The Literacy Centers have arrived. The minute the box was opened the students could not wait to begin exploring and learning from these wonderful supplies. Some could not believe that they were going to actually learning from using these amazing literacy tools. From the time the At Your Desk Centers arrived I have allowed the students to just explore and allow them to teach themselves. The Reading Comprehension Game and the Context Clue Game have become an excellent resources for my classroom for this year and years to come. I cannot express in words the impact that your donation has made on my students.
Thank you again for your generosity, thoughtfulness and understanding. My students are becoming life long learners because of you.”

If Your Name Was Changed At Ellis Island
Funded Mar 18, 2010I know I have thanked you already for opening your generous heart to my students. I hope their thank you notes and cards, though simple, show you as well the impact you have made. Your donation has not only impacted seven 4th Grade classes, it has also shown our students the value of being generous and gracious.
From moment we were able to tell our students they were going to Ellis Island to the time they sat down on the Ferry, it was all they could talk about. Every lesson on immigration ended with the same question, "Will we see any of this on Ellis Island?". The smiles on the faces of over 200 students as we sat on the top deck of the ferry and Ellis Island came into view were immeasurable. This was all due to your generosity and love. As we walked through Ellis Island and the students saw what they had learned about, the learning experience took on a whole new meaning to them. I cannot express in words the impact that your donation has made on our students.
Thank you again for your generosity, thoughtfulness and understanding. Our students are becoming life long learners because of you.

The minute the students stepped off the bus at Battery Park their eyes were bright and their mouths were open wide. We stepped on the ferry and the students would not sit still for a moment they were full of excitement. Climbing the stairs and getting to look at Manhattan from the top of the Statue of Liberty was an extreme highlight for our students. Thank you for helping us bring to life what we were teaching from textbooks. I cannot express in words the impact that your donation has made on my students. You have taught them not only about immigration but also how to be generous.

We didn't always have 50 states?
Funded Feb 19, 2008Wow I am speechless right now. I cannot express how grateful I am that someone so generous open their heart to my students. We started to learn about Colonial America last week and my students have so many questions. I know having so many resources at their fingertips will teach them so many new facts. They have even convinced the Principal to let them take a trip to a restored colonial village in New York. These books will mean the world to my students. I know I am going to have to start a sign out sheet the minute the box arrives. They are all going to want to bring them home and share their new knowledge with their parents. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and my student's hearts”
