We are beyond grateful for your generous donation. This donation will make a lasting impact on my students' lives for years to come. • Distance Learning With Document Viewer

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you for our document viewer. It has complemented the mathematics and science engagements within my classroom. Additionally, I used the devices to expand their understanding of current grade-level skills in subtraction, multiplication, and division. It has allowed students to see the content taught more clearly. Students are able to come to the front of the class and share their projects with the class. It has been such a great addition to our class. We truly thank you for your kind donation.”

  • A Sweet Treat!

    Funded Dec 22, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation. I think by far this has been my students' favorite donation received thus far. They were ecstatic when they heard the news that our project, "A Sweet Treat for My Ma+maticians" got funded. When the treats finally arrived, my students could not believe how much candy was donated. They all begin telling each other, "I going to get more candy than you because I am going to score more 100s than you on I-Ready (a computer-based program)." I also heard the chatter of students saying, "I am going to get the green light on Reflex (a multiplication fluency computer-based program). As a math educator, this type of chatter brought music to my ears. All I heard were the voices of students who were motivated to succeed. Subsequently, I begin to see students' math fluency improve drastically and students mastering I-Ready lessons. Thanks once again for your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Damus

  • Practice Makes Perfect

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

The old cliché states, "Practice makes perfect." Sending home, a set of multiplication and division flashcards allowed each of my students to practice their facts at home each night. As a result, they were able to master their facts. My students were able to be successful in their chapter assessments. When it came time for them to do their standardized testing they were not nervous at all, because they were so confident in knowing their ability to recall multiplication facts would make answering the questions a lot easier. My students and I are grateful for your gracious gift.”

  • Learning with Comfort and Ease

    Funded Sep 18, 2019

My students and I are grateful for your generous donation. The colorful and comfy seat cushions have become a wonderful addition to our classroom.

As state before, my students' favorite part of the day is when I announce, "It is center time." Now when "center time" is called they are even more eager. Students now have a chance to go to our classroom library, computer center, or the teacher-led center and collaborate with their peers with ease. Our classroom library and teacher-led center is now a more comfortable place. The students like the flexibility of the cushions on crates as a comfy seat or as a table.

Adding cushions to old milk crates has set my students at ease; which in return, has allowed them to be more focused and engaged in learning.”

  • Ignite Learning with Fire Tablets

    Funded Jul 4, 2019

My students and I thank you for your generous donation. These Fire Tablets have opened up a whole new world for my students. They are able to work with sophisticated math and science instructional programs such as I-Ready, Reflex, and Khan Academy without bandwidth limitations or mechanical interruptions. My geniuses were able to extend their understanding of number sense, build their multiplication fluency, learn how to use units of measure in real-life situations, just to name a few. These wonderful tablets have helped expand their learning horizons and are properly preparing them for the educational challenges that lie ahead.

Your kindness and generosity have changed the equation forever.”

  • Eco-Friendly Printer to Print Extraordinary Work

    Funded May 3, 2019

Thank you for the Epson EcoTank Wireless Printer. My students and I greatly appreciate your donation. It has enhanced students' projects by making them come alive with beautiful and vibrant colors.

As the classroom teacher, I am able to print essential content rich in colors that will provide a more captivating and substantial connection for students to engage in their educational development. Having an economical printer will also save us a lot of money on ink as we continue to print a whole school year of cool projects. Thank you once again.”

  • One Step Closer to a Class Set of Chromebooks

    Funded May 3, 2019

Thank you for your generosity. My students and I greatly appreciate your donation to our class project, "One Step Closer to a Class Set of Chromebooks". Words cannot express how overjoyed we were when our new Chromebook arrived. Students could not wait to get their hands on it. They love the touch screen feature. As a teacher, I love having one more learning tool in the classroom. The new Chromebook allows math center rotations to run more smoothly. As a result, students mathematical skills have improved significantly. Thank you once again for your generous donation.”

  • (Mac)imize Learning

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

Thank you for your kind donations. My students and I are thankful for your generous donation to our project, "(Mac)imize Learning". We love our new MacBook Air. We went from a broken computer (nicknamed Broken Betty by my students) to a new to and improved computer (nicknamed Better Betty). It has allowed us to connect with technology effortlessly. I can now design individualize instructions using various computer programs, apps, and websites.

Chevron, with your donations, my students have improved their understanding of grade level skills such as multiplication, long division, and fractions using programs like iReady, Reflex Math, and Tenmarks. At the start of the school year my students took a placement assessment, 75% of the students were working 1 to 2 grade level below their current grade level. With your help, now over 65% of my students are working at their currently grade level or above.

Thank you once again for contributing to our "(Mac)imize Learning" project.”

However, when a student does not excel academically on par with his or her peers, we often hear the words "I can't!" instead. Unfortunately, these are the two words I often hear my struggling students utter. It is not that they "can't" per say; in many instances my students are bright, engager to learn, and have the wherewithal, but simply lack the assistance of a supportive device to help them close the learning gap.
