  • Hands on Printing!

    Funded Nov 18, 2024

This 3d printer has been so much fun for our school. We printed through all of the options that came preloaded and students loved stopping into the library to see what it as doing and what it ended up printing.

We have started our project with our 5th grade students to create class mascots. The first class has completed the project and their mascot is a hummingbird that we just finished printing. Each student had to research and draw their idea for the classes mascot and then they all voted on the top choice for their classroom. We will move onto the next class now so that each class can have one before the end of the year.

We can't wait to continue exploring and creating with this device. Every student in the building wants to try and print something so we hope to allow each class the opportunity by the end of next school year. We may try and get a second printer so we can maybe run more projects at one time as well. Thank you for helping this project become funded, it has definitely made our school year fun and exciting.”

  • Graphic Novel Fun!

    Funded Feb 14, 2024

Thank you so much for giving to this project. Because of your generosity I was able to add lots of joy to my students reading life. I added a few books each day so different students and classes were able to get new books. By the end of the week almost every single book was checked out. They have all been checked out continuously since I put them on the shelf.

I had to grab these pictures before the books made their way back out of the library as the books were being checked out again. Our students really love graphic novels and their reading levels make them a good choice. The hope is that graphic novels will help them learn to love reading and then help them transition to regular fiction chapter books down the road.

Thank you again for supporting our students and their love of reading!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cox

  • Hunter Hawk Shoppe Start Up

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

Thank you so much for giving to this project. The students have enjoyed being able to "purchase" all of the goodies off of the cart. They make good choices and earn their points so they have plenty to spend when it is a shopping day.

They have also learned how to save up their points to purchase more expensive items. This is teaching them how to apply a saving technique with their own money in the future. We have some students who wait a week or two so they are save up enough to purchase a larger item.

Thank you for supporting our school and our students.”

  • New Year New Library

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

These supplies have been so appreciated by me and my students. The crayons are used constantly but I have provided examples of personal flags the student created during Hispanic Heritage Month after we read a story and learned about some Spanish countries and their flags.

The cart is used daily so I am able to stand close to the shelves and help students find the perfect book for them each time they visit. The letters have helped when students are trying to navigate the library and it brightens up the space.

The little spot books and figures are wonderful! We have been focusing on a feeling each month and the little spot figure has been showing up all around the library and the students get so excited each time they find one.

Donors are what makes all of these things possible. Thank you so much for giving towards this project and our school.”

  • Creatively Cricut

    Funded Feb 7, 2023

Since getting the cricut set up we have been able to create multiple displays. It has been used by teachers to create labels and to use words to describe displays. It has been used by the STEM club to cut their own designs out of paper. I know that at the start of next school year it will be used by many of the teachers to help create a joyful and positive classroom. I can't wait to see their creativity in action.

The STEM club will again create their own designs but will cut them out of vinyl and we will put them up around the building. They will be charged with creating an inspiring image so that they are encouraging the other students in the building to try their best and feel welcome. I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Thank you for donating to this project so our students and teachers can expand their creativity.”

  • Robot Dash

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

We are enjoying this robot so much! It has currently been used by our STEM club and they found such joy in learning how to control it and send it on a path. They are learning how to code and this skill will be invaluable to them as they move into middle school.

Now that we have a few students from each class learning how to work with Dash, we will begin allowing them to lead their classes into working with the robots. This will provide them the opportunity to be a leader in their room and by teaching others they are showing their full understanding of this new subject.

Thank you so much for willingly donating to this project and allowing our students this opportunity.”

  • Restock O'Clock!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

These items have been so helpful in our library. The crayons have lasted us through the whole first half of the year. Students have enjoyed having fresh new crayons when we begin new projects. The vacuum has truly helped to keep our space nice and clean.

The post-its and pens are a valuable resource at our check out desk so that students can make notes about books they are hoping to find and checkout in the future.

The index cards will be used in a STEM activity when we return to school at the start of the year.

Thank you so much for giving to this project and helping us have a successful start to the school year.”

  • Favorite Books!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

These books have brought so much joy to our library. The day I received them I got them added to our system and put on the shelf. The next class that arrived was audibly overjoyed to see so many of their favorite options. Specifically, the third, fourth, and fifth graders have been getting a lot of use out of these books. They have all been circulated many times and do not stay in the library for long before the next student picks them up.

It makes my so happy to be able to provide students with their favorite books that they really enjoy reading. Books in the hands of students that they will actually read makes a huge impact on their literacy skills. Reading for enjoyment is what turns students into readers.

Thank you for making an impact on their lives.”

  • Lego Builders

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much again for giving to this project. My students have truly enjoyed working with these Legos. For the first lessons with Legos we read a book about a young girl wanting to be an engineer. Rosie Revere, Engineer by Andrea Beaty. Then students were given the freedom to choose what they wanted to create with their Legos. They were encouraged to think before building so they were building with a purpose. When students were told they would be working with Legos they were audibly excited. After quieting down and receiving the directions they spent the last 20-25 minutes of class with their Legos. I witnessed many students who have a hard time remaining in their seats sit and work on their creation for the entire class time. These Legos allowed students to express themselves in a new and exciting way. Now every time they visit the library they are asking when we will be using Legos next. We have used them again since this initial project to create Yeti traps when students returned from winter break and they were again engaged and excited about the lesson. I have even used the Legos with higher grade levels since the initial lesson and they really enjoyed the opportunity to "be a kid" again.

Thank you for making this opportunity available to our whole population!”

  • The Book Train

    Funded Oct 26, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to this project. With these supplies I was able to create a book train that all of my students "rode" at the same time on their varying levels. I never want a child to be singled out due to a lower reading level so this allowed my to create cartons for each student that contained 4-5 books within a range of their reading level. Each day they got to pick books from their carton and closely read them. Once they had read all of their books they had to read part of one to me. This way I was able to assess their reading ability and if any growth had happened during their time on the book train.

One of my students loved the Fire Cat book that was included in the collection and there were several dinosaur books that became classroom favorites. Now that we have completed the book train I will be resorting the books (after their two week quarantine) to give each student a fresh new carton of books to pull from as we all board the book train again.

The best thing about this is that none of the students are limited or singled out by their reading level. They each are pulling from their own carton that looks the same as their peers cartons. This has allowed for an inclusive reading program that all of the students enjoyed.”

Because of the necessary quarantine time for books after they are used/touched I am trying to have as many choices as possible available to my students. I hope to create "book bags" that they can fill each week but then those books will have to be quarantined for a certain amount of days, this will mean the shelves will start to look empty. I want the students to feel like they have lots of choices at all times. The organizers will be used to keep from stacking the books which it has been said makes the germs hang around longer. With these organizers I can stand them up. The Play-Doh will allow me to have a tub for each student to use for sensory time as a break at their desk with no cross contamination.
