As my students enter first grade, it quickly becomes a challenge for them in terms of curriculum. By providing them with a variety of choices in the classroom to be successful, it eliminates some anxiety around traditional seating. Providing my students with a multitude of choices will allow them to truly choose the seating option that is best for them. Different seating choices provide my students with options for their specific needs. A storage ottoman doubles as a seat for a partner group as well as a great way for me to store more items discreetly. A bean bag chair is available for students who prefer more of a cozy place to work. Do-nut chairs will also provide my students with an extra choice as a small seat to work on the floor with. Due to each student being able to choose a new spot each day, I need an easy way for students to move their materials including tubs and bins.
