Bronx Bookworms: High School Independent Reading Library!

Thank you for funding the Bookworms Independent Reading project! Earlier this spring, I asked my students to generate a wish list of books they would like to see added to the independent reading library in the classroom. From there, I created the project on Donor's Choose and was elated when I learned that you had funded it. My elation, however, paled in comparison to the reaction from my students; when I shared the news with them, there were audible shrieks and even applause! Their anticipation of being able to read the new books reminded me of the excitement with which some children look forward to the arrival of Santa Claus or their birthdays. Thank you for your generosity, and please know that your gesture has brought happiness and literacy to a classroom of tenth graders!”
