I am the School Psychologist at Maywood Elementary School. It is my 2nd year working at this elementary school and I have developed some good working relationships with my students. A majority of my students are English Language Learners and from a low SES community. Most of the students that I work with receive special education services for disabilities such as ADHD, Autism, and learning disabilities. I provide DIS counseling to several students and we mainly focus on coping skills, self-esteem, self-awareness, honesty, and effective communication. Despite these challenges, my students are a fun bunch! I not only want them to be comfortable and have fun in counseling, but I want them to learn the appropriate skills necessary to navigate through elementary school, middle school, high school, and beyond. My ultimate goal for my students is to be happy and kind to others.
