Collaborative Learning in First Grade
Funded Jan 3, 2020Thank you so much for all your generosity! I am so excited to create a better learning environment for my kids! I can’t wait to share the good news with my class! We will be using our new tables to foster a collaborative learning environment in order for the students to work together on math, reading, writing, and science/social studies activities.
Again thank you for your help. Without all of you, this would not be possible for my class.”

Comfy Reading Corner
Funded Mar 21, 2018Your generous donations have helped my students to become more focused during reading. We are so thankful and appreciative. My students were so excited to receive comfy seating for our reading, which is their favorite space in the classroom. It is so popular that we have to take turns in groups using the comfy seating. I have seen more of my students spend more time trying to read a story until the end or put forth so much effort independently. This is all because of you! Your kindness has helped my students foster a love of reading and we truly appreciate each donation. From the bottom of my heart,
Thank you!”

1st Grade Readers and Mathematicians in Need of Technology
Funded Apr 5, 2017I am so thankful to be incorporating learning through technology. Upon receiving your donations, I was able to use a document camera to project manipulatives during math lessons, project smaller books into a much larger form, and really get my students' attention. It has been such a helpful tool to help my students master concepts in all areas of the curriculum. As a second year teacher, I have really tried to make my learning space a place where students want to come to school to learn and you have helped me create that space. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me create a classroom with different learning opportunities.”

Flexible Seating in 1st Grade!
Funded Nov 26, 2016My students in first grade are utilizing their new flexible seating at their desks. The yoga balls are perfect size for small children. Each week, a new seat of leaders are chosen for our three groups of desks at the green team, the red team, and the orange team. The leader of the week is responsible of the yoga ball and getting needed materials for their group members. It is an easy way for the students to recognize whose job this is. We have some three extra balls around the room. Each week, three students are chosen to use the ball for the week for being extra responsible, respectful, and safe in school. My students were ecstatic when I introduced the yoga balls in our classroom. They were eager to get a turn to use them and motivated to work towards using the balls as well as being able to keep their bodies calm and collected during work times. It was an exciting time the first week. Each day, a new student experienced a flexible seating arrangement for the first time. I believe it has made a huge difference in their learning experiences.
Not only have I used the ball for classroom management purposes, but I have used it for students who have difficulty keeping still during work times and independent work. The students' stamina has grown since we have used the yoga balls as a flexible seating. Children are able to spend longer periods of time reading, writing, or playing academic games all the while being able to move their bodies appropriately to keep themselves in control during the school day. It has been quite the success to decrease inappropriate behaviors and give students a way to be more successful and feel confident when completing independent work and activities. We feel so fortunate to be given to opportunity to use these items in our classroom.”
