  • Help Restock the Art Room

    Funded Apr 12, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous donations. I cannot wait for the students to see all of the new supplies.

We like to be creative and get messy in the artroom, and we go through a lot of supplies throughout the school year. Thank you for helping my students continue to create.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Chambers

  • Refill the Art Room

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

The art room moved to a new room in the building this year. All of the students were amazed the first time they walked in. Everything is organized, color coordinated, and neatly on display. Paint is on display for the students to see, where before it was hidden away in a bathroom. Their eyes light up when they walk in.

Currently we are making some abstract horses in preparation for the horse show in town. Students are using our new water colors to paint their houses. Some students are choosing to cut out their horses and collage them on construction paper that is now neatly organized and accessible.

The students love their new art room and how colorful it is. The supplies provided helped with organization and display, along with restocking so much needed things. It finally feels like an art room where students are free to create. Thank you to everyone who donated to make it possible.”

  • Help 4th and 5th Grade Grow Their Love of Painting

    Funded May 9, 2023

Every year we start off with a horse themed project because of a horse show in our town. Fifth graders were excited to paint, and even more excited when they found out that had aprons that would fit them!

In the past they have had to share with you younger grades, and the aprons were always too small. They were excited to have their own that the "little" kids can't destroy.

We cannot wait to do more painting projects and use the new paint brushes also. Thank you so much from the 4th and 5th graders and from myself.”

  • Help Us Weave!

    Funded Feb 5, 2022

My students loved the weaving projects we completed last year! Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade did variations of paper and ribbon weaving projects. Third grade used burlap, yarn, wire, and beads to create a mixed media weaving. Fourth grade completed a circular weaving on a painted paper plate loom (some students were even able to complete more than one), and fifth grade used the weaving looms to create woven coasters. The students are always excited when new materials are introduced. Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Help Us Enjoy the Art of Gyotaku Fish Prints!

    Funded Mar 9, 2021

We have not gotten to use the print making materials yet because of everything else on our schedule, but the students are excited and wondering how we are going to print with rubber fish! They were excited and confused when they saw my tub of rubber fish at first. They had many questions. I've let the students hold and look at the materials. We do print making during the spring. I am sure the students excitement and curiosity will only continue to grow until then. Thank you for your generous gift.”

  • It's Messy in Art Class!!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you for your generous donation. Because of you, we were able to purchase a classroom set of aprons to be used with our messier projects. In the past I have just told classes in advance to try to remember to not wear their nicest clothes on days when were planning on painting. Now there is no need for worry!

As soon as we returned from Winter break, our third grade students began painting a background for a penguin landscape. The paint we use is fluorescent paint, and the students love it. However, it does not wash out of clothes as easily as other paints. The students were excited to have aprons to help keep their clothes clean, and quickly figured out how to form a line across the room to tie them.

My first graders also began their first individual painting projects (which are always messy) on large sheets of paper. The aprons helped keep the blue, white, green, and brown paint if their clothes as they painted a landscape for their moose.

I know we will continue to use and enjoy these aprons throughout the years. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Chambers

Kindergarten through 5th grade. We sure do love to paint, cut and glue, draw and color, create. I am constantly exploring new supplies and techniques with the students. For many students, Art is the place where they excel and feel successful. I like to foster a sense of pride in personal expression, while building on their creativity. We do this through studying different artists and artistic movements, while learning about different mediums and techniques. I try to introduce my students to as many different things as I can in the Art world throughout the 6 years I have them.
