In our classroom learning is very much individualized even when we have similar instruction. The students are asked on a daily basis to work to their maximum potential and to stretch their brains in new and different ways. The research shows that when students feel a sense of ownership in their classroom, and have choices they can make about the environment and what they are learning they can achieve at higher levels. With flexible seating in our classroom, the students will feel empowered to take on new learning while being able to monitor their own needs and help themselves be more engaged with the learning. That is why we would like to add flexible seating to our classroom. There will be a few options, Trademark Innovations Portable Multiuse Adjustable Recliner Stadium Seat (4), a Trideer Exercise Ball Chair and two Trideer Air Stability Rings to keep the balls we already have in place. For kids interested in staying in a seat Bouncy Bands for Elementary School Chairs (4) to go around the chairs keeping their feet busy. Last but not least the ECR4Kids The Surf Portable Lap Desk/Laptop Stand/Writing Table (4) that allow them to sit on the floor but that would help them to prop a computer up. These will provide alternative options for seating in the classroom. I am grateful for the opportunity to share some of our hopes for the students with you so that you can become part of our classroom community. We have a motto at our school, "What starts here changes a community." and that is just what you would be helping us to do. Empower students to learn to in a classroom where they feel comfortable to take chances, think flexibly and regulate their own needs.
