    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Donors like you are a blessing!

I truly appreciate your belief in me and this project. I thank you for supporting educators, students, and the arts!

My students were beyond thrilled to learn about the masks they were going to be creating. I am so thankful that despite all of the restrictions and setbacks caused by COVID-19, that we were still able to be creative and stay safe.

This sewing machine has given us the means to make wonderful fun masks, but its possibilities for creative projects and student learning seem endless.

I am so amazed with the love and support received from each of you! Thanks for caring so much about the health, wellbeing and artistic expression of my students.

My appreciation will only grow as we continue to make use of this wonderful gift.”

  • The Tree of Positivity

    Funded Jan 23, 2020

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. My students were overjoyed when the Cricut Maker and all of the other accessories arrived!

We have already started to work on constructing "The Tree of Positivity" and they have jumped right in to using the Cricut Maker to make the leaves to represent different emotional intelligence traits.

This project is going to culminate in a school-wide event to help students, staff and parents build and strengthen relationships. My students are work together to design and create a life size model of a tree. The tree will be displayed in the front entrance of our school building.

Your very generous contribution will help to highlight students in our school who demonstrate good character, self-awareness and other traits found in emotionally intelligent people.”

  • A Sketchbook of My Own

    Funded Nov 18, 2019

Wow! Because of your incredible donation, every one of my students now has their very own sketchbook.

Your very generous contribution to arts education in Brooklyn, NY tells me that you understand just how valuable these art supplies are to my students. The new sketchbooks have provided my students with a permanent place to keep all their artwork. They have already started to use their sketchbooks in class, and they are thrilled with the idea of tracking their progress in art throughout the school year.

It is heartwarming to see how excited and eager they are to start their sketchbook assignments at the beginning of each art class. With my 3rd graders, it has actually become a challenge to get them to move on to other aspects of the art lesson.

You have truly made a difference in my students lives. Thank you on behalf of my students, my school, and myself.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Castrofilippo

I teach Visual Art in a Pre-K to 8 School. I move from classroom to classroom with the "Art Cart". It is a unique perspective to see the growth and development that takes place with my young artists throughout these years. I even have the pleasure of currently teaching the children of some of my former students! Artistic expression is a universal language, half of my students are new to this country and are working hard to learn a new language, in my art classes I try to create opportunities for my students to be successful during that process! I am consistently amazed by their innovative ideas. Given the right resources, there is no telling what these students can accomplish.
