Help our Special Education Students get Great Resources!
Funded Mar 27, 2018I want to take a moment to personally Thank You for funding our project and getting the great resources requested into the hands of my students! All students took heart and were grateful for all the resources, stating, for example, "WOW! is that Hokki for us?!" "We'll use that [Timer] to help us focus."
The students put all materials to immediate use. The Hokki Stool kept students balanced and focused, the analog and magnetic timer served as a dual management tool to keep track of time for different groups working on separate assignments, and the varying types of fidgets that supported all levels of sensory needs.
Your contribution has without a doubt made an impact. Your kindness and gratitude will always be remembered. Thank You for all you have done!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cardoza

Funded Jan 27, 2014It is with great gratitude that I write this letter to you. You have given so generously and yet you do not know my kids.
The first day they received the fidgets, they of course asked who were the individuals that sent these gifts; one student asked, "Is it Christmas time?" to which I replied, "Remember we talked about our Fidget Project? Well, people from around the world that do not know you have generously bought these gifts just for you. How amazing!" They eagerly wanted to explore each fidget, which we did over several days, identifying the importance of each one. One student, after using his first fidget, proclaimed in the middle of class, "Wait, they don't even know us and they bought us this [referring to the Theraputty]!?" Wow! What a wonderful life lesson you have taught my students in this experience.
Three months later and the fidgets remain an integral part of our classroom routine. Students routinely use the fidgets when they feel anxious, are escalating in frustration or anger and cannot express how they feel with words, or when kids are doing their work. Each student has taken a liking to a specific fidget; for my students who are non-verbal, they can now gesture or use sing language to choose their favorite fidget.
Again, thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your time and effort. You have made each of my students feel uniquely special!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cardoza
