Ears to the Future
Funded Aug 30, 2023Thank you for your generosity. Since we have received the headphones they've been used to create a listen center. In the listening center the friends (students) are able to listen without distraction to myself, themselves or others read and/or deliver lessons.
When I first wrote to get support for the headphones I just wanted to create a space where my friends would be able to focus on the lessons without distraction because we are in a shared space. I am excited to report that having the headphones has had a greater impact than just freeing the space of distraction. The students are so excited to hear themselves read. As they listen they have organically begun to provide themselves feedback which has increased their confidence, focus, and their learning!
"Ears to the Future" has without question positively impacted my students' futures and we are truly grateful for your contribution to the cause.”

Hands on the future
Funded Jun 1, 2016Thank you for funding our request. The iPads are greatly appreciated. Our scholars are extremely diverse and have a wide range of challenges they contend with every day. Despite their various backgrounds, they all deserve access to the ever-changing technologies around them. We have recently embraced and are implementing the new Common Core State Standards in all five domains. Some students don't have access to any technology at home. In Pre-K they are hungry for information, and they LOVE learning. Our students use a variety of learning modalities and having an iPad would not only be engaging for them, but would provide them with so many resources right at their fingertips. These students are starting school at a time when we are shifting to online testing. Kids need to be given the opportunities to explore and become comfortable using technology. The children enjoy using the iPads to take pictures of themselves and others, explore apps, and watch videos. We can not thank you enough for these gifts.”

Ms. Campbell
