Flexible Seating For All
Funded Aug 10, 2022With the help of your generous donations, my students have been loving our flexible seating choices. Many of my students have expressed how much they enjoy our new flexible seating choices. They make sure to remind me of their flexible seating day, in case I forget, because they are looking forward to their specific day.
I have noticed students, who typically fidget and may become distracted, be able to focus more and be engaged with our lessons. Many students have become more self-aware and know when they need to change their seating choice to better suit their needs for the day. This has helped minimize classroom distractions!

Funded Feb 16, 2021Thank you so much for donating towards this project for my class. The air purifier has been a saving grace to help us feel safe in our classroom. Students are still nervous being near one another in a classroom but they know that their air purifier helps filters the air in our classroom and cleans out any toxins. Having the air purifier in our classroom has allowed my students and I to feel safer being together. My students often ask to put the purifier on multiple times a day to ensure our air is as clean as it could be!
Without your continuous help and support, my students would not feel as safe as they do in our class. Thank you again for donating to my projects and believing in my class and in my students.”

For the Love of Books
Funded Jun 19, 2020Thank you so much for believing in my project and helping my students gain access to more books. When we are in class, my students are able to select a book at their reading level to read when they finish early as well as during our ELA time. They will be able to go to the library in our class, select a book that looks appealing to them and bring it back to their seat or use our flexible seating choices to read at.
By gaining these books from Scholastic, I have more books that help my struggling readers who are not at grade level. Many of my students do not have books at home so by providing a range of books in the class, they are able to find their joy in reading! This will also help me be able to incorporate "borrow a book system" in my class so that students take a book home to read.
My students will be extremely excited to see all the brand new books I have for them and will be extremely eager to read them! Thank you again for believing in my class and helping us have more books to read.”

Bring Joy to Reading in Classroom Libraries
Funded Nov 22, 2019Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. The students were extremely excited when I walked in and told them we had another project funded for books. The students enjoyed looking through the new books and seeing some that we listened to online with Vooks. They were ecstatic to be able to read the book and to have new books to go through.
It was such a joy to see them light up with the books I was able to get with your generosity. My students love to read but found it difficult with the limited supply I had so with your donation, they were able to read more books. It was amazing to see them find a book that interested them and have them read silently during out Reader's Workshop and Guided Reading time.

Listen to Reading Headphones
Funded Nov 22, 2019With your help, students have been listening to reading throughout their day! They absolutely love using the headphones in class to listen to a book on GetEpic. It has helped tremendously in the classroom. Some of my students are very low in reading and they need to hear a fluent reader. They are able to pick what book they want and are able to listen to the book being read. It has opened up so many doorways in my class.
Students used to be off task, having their computers loud during Guided Reading and online tests. Some of the tests require students to listen to an audio clip and/or a sound being pronounced. Many students would have their volume on full blast. But now, they can use their phones during all activities that require volume on their laptops.
The headphones have been a huge help! Some families may not have been able to afford headphones, but with your help, all of my students have a pair! The absolutely love using them and are very grateful for your donation. Thank you so much for your donation to my class. Not only I, but my students, greatly appreciate your donation and support.”

Funded Sep 23, 2019Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. My students have been thrilled with using flexible seating. They are able to focus during lessons, work well with each other and have managed to learn how to control their behavior, through flexible seating. My students are eager for when it is their turn to use the flexible seating choices (as we do certain numbers a day). They always check to see if it their day to use the flexible seating. My students love having multiple options to choose from. I have seen a dramatic difference in their behaviors as well as their engagement throughout the day.
Many love the Folding Stadium Seat! I didn't realize it would be such a great hit but the students enjoy lounging while working with that seat. They always help one other when they are trying to get it straight to put it away. They also love the red Wobble Stool-it stands out! The Trideer Wobble Cushion has been great for those who like to sit on it or have it next to them to rub their hands on! They have come up with creative ways to use the choices.
My students are very grateful for the support! Thank you again for supporting my students in their education through flexible seating options.”

I-Pick Book Bags
Funded Aug 14, 2019Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. This resource really helped the students by having a nice place for them to store extra books. My classroom is not large and spacious so I have to come up with creative ways to store items. Since the students only have seat sacks, not cubbies, they needed another place to store books so their seat sack wasn't too full.
The book rack allowed my students to have multiple books ready to read at a time. They love going to check out a new book and already have preselected books ready to go. My students loved the book hangers and thought it was such a cool idea.
Thank you for providing a space for my students to store books and be excited about reading. My student LOVE reading and love that they have a place for their books.”

Funded Aug 6, 2019I can't thank you enough for donating to this project. It has impacted my class in such a positive way. Students have been able to focus, do their work, have less conflicts in the classroom and honestly enjoy coming to class. When my students first saw the flexible seating, so many of their faces lit up. They were eager to use them the minute they saw them. Students have been eager to get their turn at the flexible seating. I have students being on their best behavior to get first pick at using the flexible seating. My students have been getting their work done on time by using the flexible seating. Students have figured out which flexible seating best suits their needs and have been using them ever since. I have students who in the past could not sit still and would get out of their desk frequently. But now with the flexible seating options, students have been staying in their seat and on task!
My students often have trouble with expressing their thoughts and would end up in conflicts. Yet, by being able to use a flexible seating choice as a cool down option, students have been able to manage their feelings. I've had less conflicts this year, than last! It allows my students to express themselves and having the freedom to pick which option is best for them. I've had students from previous years come up and ask to come back to class so they can use the flexible seating! Some students have even told me they are not missing school in order to use the flexible seating throughout the day.
