Classroom Library for the Resource Room!
Funded Dec 23, 2015Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom! My students love the variety of books that are on their levels. We read together as a group, and the second and third graders volunteer to read out loud much more when it is a Nate the Great book! The first graders love the easy to read science and non fiction series. The new books have helped my students with their reading fluency, comprehension skills, and overall enthusiasm for reading.
The students use the classroom rug every day. They use it for all types of instruction. We sit and read together at it, work on assignments independently with a clip board, and participate in group discussions. It is such a positive and welcoming space for our classroom environment.
My students have benefited so much from the new classroom additions. They are noticeably more engaged and excited about our lessons. We all appreciate it so much!”
With gratitude,

Books for the Resource Room!
Funded Sep 17, 2014We are so happy to have these additions to our classroom. My students love the books! They have been very excited to read the new books together. It is so nice to have various fiction and non-fiction stories on different levels that we can choose from now. Many of them are much easier texts for them to read independently than we had available to us before. They have even borrowed some books to take home for the weekend! I have been working with them on practicing their fluency and they are reading in partners, independently and in groups. With the multiple copies of stories that you provided us, we have enough so that they can all read the same story at the same time, which we were not always able to do before.
The Kindergarten students have been using the magnetic alphabet letters to practice letter names, sounds, and building words. It also helps them to practice turn taking skills. They love that they can go fishing for the letters and play a fun hands-on game while learning.
The students have also been using the reading phones to hear themselves while they read. It helps for them to hear their own voices to build their fluency and expression. The reading phones amplify their voices just loud enough so that they can read and hear it without disturbing others around them.
Thank you for adding these books and materials to our classroom library! My students and I are so grateful for your generosity!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Buono
