Funded Nov 24, 2023We want to express our gratitude for your generous contributions towards purchasing flexible seating options for our third-grade class. Your kindness and support mean the world to us. With your help, we can now provide our young learners with the opportunity to explore and engage in their learning in a more dynamic and comfortable setting.

These flexible seating options will positively impact their focus, collaboration, and overall learning experience. Thank you once again for your generosity and belief in the power of education.”

Yoga Seats, Students Feats
Funded Sep 20, 2023Thank you very much for your generous donation to our flexible seating project. Your support has made a significant difference in my students' day.
The yoga ball seats are a big hit with my third graders. In their own words, they appreciate being able to sit at a table and move simultaneously. For those who sometimes feel anxious in class, they've mentioned that sitting on the yoga ball makes them calmer and happier.
Your contribution has truly enhanced our learning environment. My students and I appreciate your support and contribution enormously.”

Funded Sep 1, 2023My students greatly appreciate the availability of flexible seating options within the classroom. In a recent questionnaire about the most valued aspects of their third-grade experience, numerous students highlighted the positive impact of the yoga ball seats. To ensure equitable access, the students collaboratively created a fair system for sharing these seats, promoting inclusivity among all classmates.
Thank you very much for your generous contribution, which significantly enhances the learning environment in my classroom. Your support is instrumental in creating a more enriching educational experience for my students.”

Books to Enrich My Readers
Funded Nov 29, 2022The new books are amazing! These new titles are very popular in our class and my third graders loved them.
Your contribution has made a great impact on my students desire to read books in class. Having access to different kind of books in class has many benefits for the students. Our program is a Spanish dual language. Reading books in Spanish improves students vocabulary, communication and writing skill, and also inspire student's imagination. For many of my students reading also helps them reduce their stress level.
In the words of my students "Muchas Gracias por ayudarnos a ser mejores lectores"!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Buceta Miller

Funded Sep 26, 2019We would like to thank you for your generous contributions which made the "Choose your Seat" project possible for our third grade class.
Because of your generosity, we now have a total of six wobble chairs in our classroom. The students love to use the wobble chairs because it gives them the option of moving in place while paying attention during lessons and completing their work.
A wobble chair is an important tool that helps our students be successful in the classroom. My students recognize the value that wobble chairs bring to their learning experience and have created a system for sharing the chairs amongst themselves each day. The students like them so much that in one of our class meetings they suggested creating a new DonorsChoose project to add a few more wobble chairs to our classroom.
Many thanks for your support. It means the world to me and all my students.”

Wobble Chairs Steady the Classroom
Funded Feb 28, 2019On behave of my third grade students at John Stanford International school, thank you very much for your generosity and investment to our Donor Choose classroom project. With the help of your donations our class has received three high quality wobbly chairs.
Students were so excited and eager about being able to seat in a wobbly chair that since the first day they came up with a plan for a daily system to fairly take turns using the chairs.
Having flexible seating available in class makes a big difference for all students learning, but especially for those who struggle with attention difficulties and need a more kinesthetic classroom approach.
Thank you, Gracia's, for your contribution to make our classroom a more successful place for students to learn.”

Funded Nov 20, 2015Words cannot express the tremendous impact your gift of iPads has had not only on the educational experience of my fourth grade students this year but also on students abroad, as well.
Earlier this year, iPads played an integral part in the students' research about Washington State history, its terrain, historical and present day cartography and maps, and in the study of the state's indigenous peoples and cultures. Afterward, the fourth graders created maps of their own and oral presentations that they shared not only with their classmates in Room 320 at John Stanford International School, but also using a live video chat with a classroom of fourth graders in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Your gift set the foundation for an engaging, real-time cultural, linguistic, and academic exchange between students from two different countries and backgrounds. Amazing!
In addition to exploratory activities, your iPads continue to create a more inviting and relevant learning experience for our fourth graders with challenging math practice games, visual aids, and innovative ways to communicate with and assess students in a bilingual environment. One such assessment tool is Plickers. As a teacher, I am able to evaluate how many students understand a particular concept or lesson with a quick quiz in a fun and non-threatening manner. As I question students, they respond by holding up answer cards, which I can easily scan using my iPad. I then receive instantaneous results of how many students answered correctly and incorrectly for each question. This also works great for surveys and polls, as well.
For all of the many thought-provoking and enriching adventures our class has each time we utilize your iPads, we say, "Thank you! Thank you very much! Muchisimas Gracias!"”

iPads for Third Grade Spanish Immersion Class
Funded Dec 19, 2014I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. The two iPads that you donated have helped my students and me in many ways. My third graders want you to know that they love them, and they get very excited every time they use them. We have found great apps for math practice and games on the iPads. Now when we do stations or group activities, everybody can participate. We have also used the iPads for research projects. It has been amazing to see how quickly the iPads have been integrated into our learning environment.
One very helpful outcome to using iPads in class is the use of a software called Plickers. Plickers is a student response system that lets me poll the class for free. It has become an important student assessment tool. Students use cards to show their answers to questions, and the iPad scans these cards to record the data. While the students think they are playing a game, I am collecting data to assess their understanding and knowledge of the subject. Assessments can be shown by individuals and groups, and the results can be shown in charts and graphs format.
Your generosity has had an important impact in my classroom: it has given me an effective classroom tool, and it has enhanced the educational experience of my students. Thank you for your generous gift and support.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Buceta Miller
