  • Fun Friday Fanatics

    Funded Feb 10, 2022

Thanks again for your generous donations! The materials purchased for our "Fun Friday Fanatics" project gives my students the opportunity to learn and develop foundational math skills through play.

The Chutes and Ladders game reinforces their numerical knowledge by providing cues to both the order of numbers and a numbers' magnitude. The Wooden Geoboard that utilizes the rubber bands reinforces their geometric and spatial sense. In addition, the Bug Building game allows my students to build and improve their fine motor skills.

Overall, my students are drawn to the pleasure they feel when engaging in the activities purchased through your donation. All of the games provide them with sensory experiences, repetition to master skills, and enable them to interact with each other.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bright

This classroom project was brought to life by Black History Month Partners and 4 other donors.
  • Sprucing up for Spring

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Thanks again for your generous donations! The materials purchased for our "Sprucing Up for Spring" project brought a positive and fresh feeling to our classroom.

The Heavy Duty Double- Sided Tape is extremely useful, since it is often difficult to hang displays without destroying the wall. Student work and positive quotes are now displayed without the worry of falling down.

We removed our heavy curtains and replaced them with the large Artificial Palm Leaves. This change welcomed more natural light into our learning space. In addition, the Potted Plants added a touch of vibrancy to our once dull window sills.

Best of all, Hobby Knives allowed me to cut-out life size vinyl silhouettes that reflect diverse images of students.”

  • Tools for School

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Thanks again for your generous donations! The materials purchased for our "Tools for School" project have been extremely beneficial to our learning environment. My students use the materials in a variety of different ways.

The Express Your Feelings Pocket Chart allows my students to identify their feelings at various moments of the day. This in turn allows me to help them process their feelings and present useful coping strategies. One of our most useful coping strategies incorporates the Mindful Maze Breathing Boards that were also purchased through your donation.

In addition, the Mellisa & Doug Card game set along with the Zingo Bingo game assists in the teaching of social skills through play. As my students share play experiences, they are also able to explore their feelings, develop self-discipline, express themselves and problem-solve.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bright

  • Popcorn, Juice and Pops

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you so much for your assistance in providing my students with an afternoon snack. Please know that you have provided much more than a snack! Your donation will also allow us to apply basic concepts of measurement and numeration as we make popcorn and use popcorn for other math activities.”

  • Concrete Concepts: Sensory Based Learning Activities

    Funded Aug 27, 2019

On behalf of our school community, I would like to thank you for your generous contributions. Your gifts will provide our students with sensory-based learning experiences. Such experiences support language development, gross motor skills, social interaction and problem solving skills. Moreover, sensory-based learning experiences lead to a child’s ability to complete more complex learning tasks.”

  • Unmask My Potential With a Task

    Funded Nov 28, 2018

The hands-on learning activities and manipulatives received through your donation made a significant impact on my classroom community. The materials were used to create task boxes, which allowed my students to experience the success of working independently. My students were always engaged and never got bored. In fact, the variations of the materials and the large quantities of each item gave me the ability to rotate the tasks among all the students on an ongoing basis. We received so many items that we were able to share our activities with another classroom in need! Moreover, the task boxes became extremely useful at the end of the year!

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bright

  • Digital Direct

    Funded Mar 30, 2018

My students and I are extremely grateful for our chromebooks. We are able to access our district approved Reading, Math, and Science apps in addition to our computer- based interventions. My students never have to worry about missing computer time in their general education class because they have access to computers outside of class.

As their learning support teacher, I can quickly access pictures, videos and other web- based resources to enhance student understanding of various topics.

Overall, we are fortunate and truly appreciate your support.”

  • Seated Energizers: Wobble Chairs for Bodies in Motion

    Funded Apr 10, 2018

The wobble chairs are an awesome addition to our classroom environment. My students prefer to sit in the wobble chairs over any other types of flexible seating. The ability to wobble while they work has had a direct impact on their productivity. Their attention- to- task has improved, which allows them to reach proficient levels of achievement in the academic areas of Reading and Math.

In fact, I often sit in the wobble chairs myself!

We love our seated energizes and can't imagine classroom engagement without them!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bright

  • Tech Time-Outs: Breaks that Reinforce Math and Science Concepts.

    Funded Sep 30, 2018

The tablets that my students received through your donation are a bonus addition to our classroom! My students are eager to earn the privilege to engage in an educational app during their break time. As a result, their time-on-task has increased and their ability to master academic concepts has improved. The tablets also support classroom management efforts and my students often stay in for lunch in order to gain additional time on the tablet.

Overall, my students are performing at higher levels since the implementation of Tech Time-Outs!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bright
