Let's Get Organized!
Funded Dec 13, 2024Thank you again so much for your very generous donations to this project! With the materials, I am able to more easily organized the MANY materials needed for my new math and literacy curriculums. Each unit has its own box where I can now store laminated charts, copies of worksheets, etc for use this year and in the years to come. I have also used these boxes for student centers. Kids can now more easily access various math and literacy games, now that they are organized in a more functional way!”

Funded Dec 3, 2024Thank you again so much for your very generous donations to this project! With the materials, I am able to more easily create games and activities for students to use on a regular basis. I have laminated math games, phonics manipulative, you name it! And the kids use these games regularly throughout the day and the week. The dry erase markers have been a lifesaver! Again, my kids use them regularly throughout the school day, and oftentimes they run out quickly and I need to replenish their stock. With your help I am able to help kids grown and learn by using materials in a fun way!”

Funded Jun 25, 2023Thank you so very much for your generous donations! With your help, both my coteacher and I will be able to continue to support our struggling readers and writers with the support of direct phonics instruction using the UFLI curriculum and manual. With this tool, we will able to bring the UFLI slides to life. Students can practice targeted phonemic awareness skills that match their reading progress. There are also decidable texts that match each lesson. This resource allows students to practice the exact skill learned that day.”

Independent Work Stations
Funded Dec 9, 2022Thank you so very much for your generous donations to our class! In the past, our class was often distracted and noisy during their independent work time. With your help and support, our students have learned to use the independent work stations (or "personal offices," as we call them) as a tool to help them focus on their work. They also use the noise canceling headphones as a way to avoid distractions. These tools have lead to a more focused and driven work environment. Students are more focused and driven that ever!”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so very much for the new classroom rug! It has provided a comfortable space for kids to work. Whether it's a large group lesson, a smaller teacher led group, or them working in partners or independently, they enjoy this space and truly take advantage of it.
During reading, you can see kids laying down on the rug, books in hand. During writing, students prop their writing on clipboards and use this space to focus on their work. During math, they spread out in the space, using various mathematical tools to support their learning. Overall, it has greatly benefitted our classroom community.”

Funded Sep 1, 2019Thank you so much for your extremely generous donations! Our class was so excited to receive brand new book baggies to store their treasured independent books in. They love using clipboards to work on various subjects in a cozy spot of their choice, or during small group work on the rug. The noise cancelling headphones are also an amazing gift! In our ICT classroom, it can often get loud. Having these headphones is a great resource that allows the children to better focus on the work they are doing, whether it is independent reading, writing, or math!”

Help Us Make More "Old Favorite" Stories!
Funded Nov 4, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! Our kids were so excited to receive these new books to add to their "Old Favorites" repertoire. After reading each of these stories aloud to our class multiple times, the children were able to "read" them on their own, retelling the story by using the pictures to guide them.
Instilling this ability to read in young learners is a crucial part of their growth and love of reading and learning. Thank you for helping us achieve that goal!”

Book Backpacks
Funded Oct 18, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classrooms! As our students continue to grow, they are learning to read simple pattern texts that include their sight words and words that they can read using the picture and beginning sound of the word to help them. They are also experts at "reading" familiar old favorite storybooks that they read with us in the classroom and at home with the families.
Having these book baggies has really allowed our students to have a better experience with borrowing books from our classroom. They get so excited when it's their time to "shop" for books from our classroom library and place their new choices in their book baggie.
Students also enjoy and learn the responsibility of unpacking their book baggies from their back pack and placing them on the back of their chair. Storing their book baggies here allows for more space inside their desks for other curricula materials.
Thank you again!”

Literacy Center Materials
Funded Dec 28, 2015Thank you again so much for your generous donations! Having a laminating machine in our classroom has allowed for the quick creation of so many fun literacy and math games that we love to play every day! Some of the games we have created allow our children to practice beginning or ending sounds for words. These playing cards have a simple picture on top, then three letter choices below; the students use their knowledge of beginning/ending sounds to help them select the correct response. The donated clothespins are used in these games to mark their answer. Using these instead of a marker allows students to work on strengthening their fine motor skills, which is a reason why we try incorporating clothespins into various classroom activities.
The dry erase markers are used EVERY SINLGE DAY in our room for many activities. One example is for letter/number formation practice. Students use the dry erase markers to trace over either letters or numbers, which helps them master their handwriting.
Again, our class thanks you so much for your contributions!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Jacqui
