Lift Us Up! Donate for New Kettlebell Equipment
Funded Dec 5, 2024Thank you so much for your generous support in providing kettlebells for our classroom! These new resources have completely transformed our physical education lessons. Recently, we used the kettlebells to introduce a strength and conditioning unit where students learned proper techniques for exercises like swings, goblet squats, and presses. One standout moment was when a student who initially felt unsure about their strength proudly completed their first full set of swings with perfect form—it was a moment of pure joy and accomplishment!
When my students first saw the kettlebells, their excitement was contagious. They immediately started asking questions about how to use them and couldn't wait to get started. One student even said, "These make working out feel like a real gym experience!" The kettlebells have not only added variety to our fitness routine but have also helped my students build confidence, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of functional movement.
Looking ahead, we plan to incorporate the kettlebells into circuit training workouts and fitness challenges that will encourage goal-setting and personal growth. These tools are helping my students develop lifelong fitness habits while making physical education more engaging and fun. Thank you for making this possible and for supporting our journey to a healthier and stronger future!”

Funded Sep 21, 2024The donation of bumper plates has transformed our high school weight room class. Students are excited to have safer, professional-grade equipment, boosting their confidence and enabling them to learn Olympic lifts like the clean and snatch. The bumper plates' range of weights supports lifters of all levels, creating a more inclusive environment. With the new equipment, students feel empowered to safely push their limits, improving both performance and engagement. Teachers report better participation and enthusiasm, making the weight room a hub of growth and learning.”

Funded Aug 30, 2016Thank you so much for your generosity and constant support of our program. When I first told my student-athletes that this project was fully funded so quickly, they were elated! They could not wait till all the equipment came in so that they can start working with it right away. The Valor ball was every student-athletes' favorite because they were able to imitate some of their favorite athletes and their workouts. The Bosu balls have been so helpful with rehabbing & strengthening minor injuries. We are proud to have you all in our corner! Thank you!”

Maspeth High School Boys Basketball
Funded Sep 2, 2015This morning we began using the new equipment with our basketball team. They were so excited when they saw the new boxes of things. They immediately started grabbing the boxes and setting the new equipment up. We used the parachutes to do shuttle runs with them. The heavy bag to work on explosive steps and the recoil bands to pull through weight. The guys were working so hard today due to their excitement. They also were talking about how much more fun these types of activities were in comparison to just running. Thank you so much for being part of this new found excitement and work ethic. We are looking forward to continuing this type of hard work.”

Funded May 8, 2015Thank you once again for the donations you made to our program. Our students were so grateful when they saw the equipment that was donated and so excited that they put them right into use.
The students thane been using the push pads during contact drills. They have been motivating each other and helping one another when it comes to contact in the sport of basketball. The resistance band is used regularly for various explosive exercises. The basket cover is a great tool for rebounding and the fellas have improved so much because of this.
It is so much fun watching how motivated they are when they use these wonderful resources. We are forever grateful.”

Basketball Equipment
Funded Jan 19, 2014Once again I would like to thank you on behalf of the entire Maspeth High School community. When the equipment arrived our student-athletes were very excited. Many became more motivated to work on skills they are not great at and they are having fun doing so.
Our student-athletes are working on hand eye coordination with the new "Z balls" we received. Others are working on getting they ankles stronger by performing balancing exercises on the Bosu Ball.
I have noticed our athletes' motivation increase. Many are coming in after school to work on skills on their own. It is very exciting to see. We can not thank you enough for your help.”

Physical Education Equipment
Funded Sep 10, 2012We live in a time that childhood obesity has become a very scary problem for our young population and the future of our country. As a physical educator I feel that educating our students on these issues is imperative for their development. However, sometimes it is not enough to lecture and hand out a variety of different facts about the decline of our health as a population. I believe that by exposing students, especially those who are underprivileged, to new sports and ways to exercise can help motivate and allow students to explore and maybe even fall in love with an activity that they never new existed.
Your donations have really helped with this task and I am beyond grateful to you for helping our program. Our students are really excited about our fitness unit which is currently going on. They love that we have music playing while they are working out and they are really enjoying themselves.
Once again, thank you for your generosity. You will always be part of our Northside family!”

Softball Equipment
Funded Apr 4, 2012The equipment that you donated has helped our team tremendously. They have been able to work on their fielding skills with the soft touch paddles and your catcher has been safe during wild pitches and foul balls hit her way. Our girls were so excited to receive this equipment and in their own words "it helps us feel like a real team".
We are currently facing financial problems when it comes to athletics since our school's budget did not include enough funds for our athletic teams. We want to thank you dearly fo lending a helping hand during this difficult time. This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to our softball team.”
