  • STEM Learning Stations

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

Thank you so much for providing my students with new tablets to use with the coding robot activities in our STEAM learning station. The students really love being creative and building, so I knew they were going to lose their mind when they saw these. I love that they will each be able to pick a project of their choice to work with and create. We do rotating STEAM stations in the Science Lab and the kids always ask to include the robots. Thank you so much for helping me give the students in 4th grade a diverse and engaging experience this year!”

  • Trunk or Treating the Non-Candy Way

    Funded Oct 29, 2023

This year's Trunk or Treat event was a HUGE success! We had over 400 students come through with their families. In fact, there were so many families that we had to keep it going an extra 30 minutes just to get through them all! It was so nice to see all of the kids out dressed with their families. They were all so excited to see the cars, costumes, and of course, the treats! Thank to you, we had so much to offer them. My students were talking about it when they walked in the door this morning! We have really missed having these school events where we can bring our families together. We are looking forward to this becoming an annual tradition that grows every year!"”

  • Prizes Galore in Our Dolphin Dollar Store!

    Funded Sep 5, 2023

Several teachers from our building all created projects and then combined all of them together to fill the store. I have never seen it looking so good. The students were absolutely in love with all of the choices. Many of the students decided to save their money and wait until next month so they could get an even larger prize. Seeing all of the fun choices is great motivation for them. They want to be caught doing the right thing so they can earn more dollars!

The students are definitely looking forward to saving up their money and earning some amazing prizes next month. Thank you again so much for helping to bring this project to life. Your generosity and kindness reached 100s of students today, in grades PreK-5h grade!”

  • Learning How to Manage My Money!

    Funded Sep 16, 2023

Thank you so much for helping me get this project funded so that we can have some awesome prizes for the students in pre k-5th grade to "purchase" with their hard earned Dolphin Dollars. My school has a PBIS system where students can earn Dolphin Dollars for being safe, responsible, and/or respectful. Once a month, we go to our Dolphin Dollar store so students can spend the dollars they earned. We have so many students that show up and show out every day. They work so hard to earn their Dolphin Dollars and they truly look forward to "purchasing" prizes. So much so that we can hardly keep items in the store. I am beyond grateful to you for helping us to keep this program going!”

  • Treats for My Sweets!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

I can't thank you enough for your help in getting these treats for kiddos. Already this year I have been able to provide my students with little rewards to celebrate them doing responsible and respectful things, like being kind to others and remembering to bring back those important first day of school papers.

One of my favorite lessons to do with the kids is with a picture book titled Taste Your Words by Bonnie Clark. Having the sweet treats truly help make the lesson sink in. I know it does when I overhear the kids telling each other "... to taste your words" or "...that's not a sweet thing to say...".

The biggest hit on our room is the gumball machine and treat bucket. The kids barely had their foot in the door before they started saying "I heard about the gumballs last year!" and "I knew it! She has the best candy!" Although, water bottle stickers are pretty popular this year. I love being able to use them as a quick reward and recognition.

This year's group of kiddos are pretty amazing. And again, thank you will never be enough words to express my true gratitude for your help with making this the best 4th grade year possible!”

    Mrs. Withrow

  • Organization Promotes Learning

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Thank you so much for funding our brand new organizational materials that were needed around our classroom! They were definitely the right choice for us. When our custodial crew delivered the boxes, I couldn't wait to pull it all out and share with the kids! These materials are perfect for all the "extra" that goes into our day as an elementary classroom. I love that I was able to choose good quality items, which allows me to do way more than I expected. Our days are busy and I wanted to make sure we have something that is easily managed. Thanks to you we have SUCCESS!

Thank you again for helping to keep our room organized and allowing me to make the best learning experience I can for my kiddos.”

I am so excited and eager to welcome 24 bright smiling faces into my classroom this fall. I teach 4th grade at a Title 1 school in Norfolk, VA. Many students in our school come from low-income households. This has many implications academically. It is my desire that my classroom is a place where ALL students come to feel loved and to have an equal opportunity to learn and grow. No matter the challenges they face, my students come to school wanting to succeed and I want to do everything I can to help them do just that!
