Getting Comfy and Cozy in the Reading Corner

I want to thank you for donating to my project. My students and I have been enjoying our cozy reading area. Students love to cozy up on a bean bag and get lost in a book.

I was lucky enough to receive my materials before the first day of school so when students walked into the classroom and saw our classroom library as our focal point of the good they all gasped. The excited murmurs of "check out the bean bags! " and "I can't wait to sit on it" could be heard across the room. The colorful library baskets pop in the classroom and invite students to choose a book to get lost in.

The bean bags have been working a dual purpose! When students need a break they ask for a chance to sit on the bean bags. Also, it's able to be used as an area of students to complete their work. In combination with previously purchased lap desks the library has become a space where students want to go and work in. We will continue using this space as a cozy, safe space and plan to add more materials such as calm down tools and book buddies.”
