I teach Kindergarten in the Edgewater area of Chicago. My classroom consists of 30 vibrant, loving, respectful, and brilliant ESL/bilingual students that come from low-income families. Every student in my classroom has a unique and fascinating background, and they are always teaching me new things! We love to smile and laugh when we learn, and we are always celebrating our differences. The classroom works together to find innovative ways to learn new things; and everything is differentiated to meet the needs of my students. We work as a team to create a safe, warm, and welcoming learning environment for every student, parent, and faculty member. As a former CPS and ESL student, I understand many challenges that may emerge. Therefore, I advocate for my students and always try to go above and beyond to make sure they are successful.
