  • The Tools We Need at School to Succeed

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

My students and I are so very thankful for your support and generous donations! When they saw the numerous boxes waiting to be unpacked, their excitement was contagious. Seeing the happiness on their faces touched my heart and made all of us super excited and ready to learn.

We have had such a successful year, so far. If we did not have the supplies you funded for us, we would not be able to do our daily reading intervention lessons. We have used the supplies to read and write words every day, learn how to spell, and practice our fluency. My students especially enjoy using the Expo dry erase markers to break apart big words.

We have been able to stay healthy by using the hand sanitizer daily. Having our own supply pouches, instead of sharing supplies, makes a big difference also. I truly believe every child is just one caring adult away from becoming a successful. Thank you for being the caring adults my students need to succeed!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barth

  • Ready to Succeed with the Supplies We Need

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

My student's have used the resources you provided us every day since they came in the mail. When my students opened the box of supplies and got to fill their pencil pouch full of the tools they need to succeed, they were so excited. They love having their own pencil pouch and can't wait to take it home at the end of the year! Having their own set of supplies makes them feel safe and ready to learn. It makes me feel like I am able to keep my students safe by preventing the spread of COVID within my classroom. Your donation has also eliminated the need to sanitize supplies every time a student uses a pencil, highlighter, marker, or eraser. This allows us to have more instructional time to learn how to read. We will continue to use the supplies and will be forever grateful for our generous donations. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

  • Tools We Need to Succeed

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

My students and I are so very grateful for your generous donation. Receiving a big box full of new supplies was such an exciting experience for each of my students. I was super excited also. I did not tell my students about the donation ahead of time, so it was a total surprise for each of them.

When they entered our room and saw a big cardboard box, they were curious. I had each of my intervention groups open the box and check out the awesome new supplies before we began using them. The looks of excitement and happiness on their faces was priceless.

Each of my students has been working extremely hard to strengthen their reading skills for the past five months. We had used all of our materials. Your generosity has allowed us to continue our hard work and learning that will keep my students on the path to becoming successful, confident readers. We will continue using these supplies for the remainder of the school year. Thank you for supporting my amazing students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barth

  • Big Dreams, Big Bus!

    Funded Mar 9, 2019

This project helped our first grade families afford an amazing experience! Thanks to your generous donations, the families did not have to pay for one of the charter buses that got us to Sea World. This saved our families a significant amount of money! We also were able to take the two hour trip in a comfortable, air conditioned charter bus during one of Florida's hottest months.

Before the trip, each student chose an animal from Sea World to research. They read books and watched videos to answer questions and learn facts about their animals. Then each student created an "All About ________" book about the Sea World animal they chose. We shared the books with each other before the trip to build background knowledge of the animals they would see at Sea World.

Our trip to Sea World was so much fun! Many students had never been to a theme park before. Seeing the joy and excitement on their faces was the best! We were able to see a dolphin show, get splashed by Shamu, pet the stingrays, travel to the Arctic to see the penguins up close, and play in the splash pad on Sesame Street. The highlight was getting to spend an awesome day with friends and families to celebrate a wonderful year in First Grade.”

  • Paint and Play: Bringing Interactive Learning Spaces to Life

    Funded Apr 22, 2019

We are so thankful for your donation and support. This was our first Project Based Learning (PBL) project and you helped make it a success! Our first grade PBL students worked hard to research playground designs and safety. Then they used their new knowledge to design safe and engaging interactive learning spaces for our school's primary playground. With your donations, we were able to bring the designs to life.

When the paint arrived, it was a surprise for the kids. When they opened it and realized we actually had the supplies to bring their designs to life, they were ecstatic! Every student had a smile on their face and erupted in cheers of joy. Students and their families were invited to come after school and help paint the playground designs. The students were so proud to share and create their designs with their families and classmates.

Now all of the Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade students at Vero Beach Elementary can enjoy the interactive learning spaces every day at recess. Thank you for making 38 first grade dreams come true!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barth
