Over the past year, my students have been exposed to the world of STEM. They have worked on their design skills during STEM challenges in the classroom and at district events. Because I see multiple classes a week, I am often left with inadequate amounts of engineering tools like LEGO building blocks. Often times the students are looking for additional pieces for their creations and I can't provide. This limits the creativity that my students could demonstrate in their projects. With the We Do 2.0 Core Set and Creative Lego Brick set, my students can engage in the projects on Lego Education's website and enhance their coding skills, like building a motorized fan or a tadpole during our study of life cycles. The possibilities are endless. Once students have created their projects, they can display them on the Large Building Plates which will help with the transportation of their projects during presentations. For my earlier learners that have fine motor issues, they require larger pieces to work with in engineering. This is where the Block Play Early Learning Kit and the Creative Lego Duplo kit come in to play. Students can still engage in building and engineering like their peers but to their abilities. With the requested materials I expect to see more ingenuity, engagement, colloboration, and participation across all of my grade levels despite their academic differences.
