Help Bring Darkroom Photography Back to School!
Funded Mar 2, 2025Wow! I am so happy to see alumni and anonymous donors pitch in to make this happen at our school. I completely revamped, clean, and organized the darkroom and it is now completely ready to go next year with all of these final supplies. I have a 55+ student wait list to take this photography course next year and I can tell this traditional way of art is making a comeback with the youth. Thank you so much for providing the last of the supplies we needed!”

Help A Philly Art Classroom Be Creative in 2024-2025!
Funded Aug 30, 2024Thank you so much for donating to my art room. I wanted to take a moment to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of art supplies to my classroom. Your contribution is truly appreciated, and it will make a world of difference for my students. I have been able to do and plan so many more art projects for my students in Philadelphia due to having access to these supplies. Students have been able to learn about photo realism in shading and coloring by using the prismacolor pencils and markers. They created pop art sneakers in b oth my 5th and 6th grade classes that looked amazing. My students in Advanced Placement art have been thrilled to have quality supplies as they work on an art portfolio of 15-20 pieces for college credit. In addition, a crowd favorite art project that my students love is anything and everything that has to do with clay. This donation will allow me to do both polymer clay projects with my kids, as well as pottery! Art class is so important for our students mental health and they really enjoy the safe space that is created in the art room for them to be artistic, creative and to explore their identity through the arts. The students are already so excited to dive into new projects, and I can see how much they value the opportunity to express themselves through art. Your donation will not only enhance their learning experience but also foster confidence and creativity in ways that will last a lifetime.
On behalf of my students and myself, thank you again for your kindness and generosity. You are helping to make a lasting impact in the lives of young artists, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.”

Funded Mar 25, 2024Thank you so much for funding the 3D printer for my art room and the general Masterman school community. Over the past six months, I have been collaborating with the science and engineering departments at my school in order to create cross curricular opportunities for our students. I was inspired to get a 3D printer when I noticed students enjoyed playing with the app TinkerCad on their Chromebooks and creating 3D models of various things. The district had reached out to me and even told me that there was a STEAM competition every year that allowed students to show what they have created in science and art courses that are using devices such as 3D printers. A few of the science teachers told me that their 3D printers had broken and/or stopped working, so I was determined to get us a new one. My goal this year is to have students make polymer clay stencils and/or "cookie cutters" that are customized by them on TinkerCad that we can use for our clay units. We have science olympiad students that will be doing various other adventures with the 3D printer. I know that it is important for our students to have the ability to use these types of materials in this day and age, so we thank you for this opportunity!”

Expanding Art Program Opportunities at Masterman
Funded Jan 18, 2024Thank you so much for donating to my project. This allowed me to teach my students how to use polymer clay to create functional clay objects, such as jewelry, keychains, tic tac toe boards, figurines, ornaments, and so much more! The kids have told me it was their favorite project they have done in art and they did not know they were capable of creating a 2D sketch / idea in their head into a final 3D creation. A lot of students were able to give presents to loved ones during the holiday season. Inflation has effected us all, especially art teachers with the cost of supplies and how expensive they have become. Clay materials are some of the most expensive material, and yet it is some of the students most favorite medium. You do not need any drawing skills or to feel that you are a strong artist in order to participate. Again, thank you so much and please feel free to check out the kids work I post on instagram @MsAubry_Art.”
