  • Wiggle and Wobble

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

This amazing project has funded for us just in time! With COVID all of our flexible seating was removed from our classroom. Students were instructed to sit in a desk all day. Luckily, thanks to our donors, I had an option for flexible seating! Students love to sit in these seats when I read a story to them. They are also able to take the seat into our calm corner to relax. I feel that students are more engaged when they feel safe and comfortable. I asked for five flexible seats and I had exactly five students in person! It was perfect! Thank you!”

  • Ready? Set. Build!

    Funded Nov 28, 2020

I am so grateful for all these donations to this wonderful project! I was so happy when I was able to provide LEGOs to my in person and remote students. We have started doing LEGO challenges on Fridays where I give the students a task and then everyone presents what they have created. I have seen some amazing creations! Students have made animals, rockets, houses, and so much more! The best aspect of this project is that both the in person and remote students feel so connected in the classroom. Thank you!”

  • Can You Make It?

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Whoa! I just could not believe it when I saw that email! I am so grateful for the generosity of the donors choose community. It is amazing to have the support to continue to engage my students! We have started guided reading but it was missing something. We needed students to have some hands on activities too! This will make a huge difference. Thank you!”

  • Sight Words Wherever We Learn!

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you so much for funding this project! These new resource will help my students get that extra hit of sight word recognition practice. After a small reading group, we all take out our journals and practice sight words. The kids love the different interactive activities that they can do every day. The extra practice makes a huge difference in their ability to read. Now that that got their sight words down they can focus on the comprehension part of the story. I love the boost in confidence it has given my students in such a short amount of time. Thank you!”

  • Keep Calm and Puzzle On

    Funded Dec 23, 2019

I am so grateful for the gifts that my classroom recieved. The puzzles were a wonderful tool for my students to practice socializing with thier peers. They are able to practice thier English in an activity that has a very low affective filter. I've seen my students grow in self confidence! My students choose to stay inside for recess so that they can make the puzzles together. I love that they can work as a team and share the work of putting the puzzles together. They have gotten so good at solving the puzzles!

    Thank you!”

  • Some Mice Would Be Nice

    Funded Oct 10, 2019

I want to thank you for the amazing donations toward the computer mice! They have made a world of difference in the learning in my classroom. Students now look forward to go to the computer! For 15 minutes a day students go on the computer for letter and sound practice. They get right to work! Before all my students struggled to get on the computer or using the mouse pad. A lot of instructional practice time was wasted! I am so happy that I can finally see what my students know and can base my teaching of that data. Thank you!”

Since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be a teacher. Over many years of garage sales, thrift stores, book fairs and birthdays I have finally collected the perfect library. Just the right balance of fiction and nonfiction. Almost all of the Junie B. Jones books. My students need the mobile library to have a home for all those books. Students will be able to choose from many different categories of books. The bins easily lift out so that students can read a specific category of books every week during literacy centers! The layout of the bins will make reading more accessible for my students.
