  • Engage Students in CS Learning

    Funded Nov 9, 2021

I want to express how appreciative my students and I are with the help you've provided. Watching my students' excitement using the new tools was heartwarming and fulfilling. There are times when it feels like no matter how hard we try, there are still barriers to overcome in our pursuit to have an equal footing. However, when generosity like yours comes to us, we are reminded that there is a path to success for my students, because there are others, like you, who are willing to share and who really care.

    Once again our sincerest thanks!”

  • My Students need Computer Science

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you for helping me attend this very important professional development. I just completed it today and the experience, knowledge and resources that I gained were invaluable. I can't wait to bring them into my classroom next school year. Without your generosity, my students would not have been able to gain these important professional and social skills. I know my students will also have a positive and exciting experience in the course, they can apply to their college years and career goals.

Once again, thank you for your generosity.”

  • We Need Help to Get to College!!

    Funded Dec 5, 2017

My students and I would like to say a great big thank you for your generosity. The impact that this donation has had on the students has been incredible and extremely productive and successful. The Albert IO program is exactly what they needed to get that badly needed extra help so they can achieve competitive scores on the important SAT and AP Tests.

Our community consists of low socioeconomic families that struggle on a day to day basis just to make ends meet. Yet despite this, many of our students still have a high level of intelligence and perseverance. However, oftentimes they lack the necessary confidence to succeed in high stakes situations because they feel they are not fully prepared. They just need that little extra help. This is where the gift of a specialized program like Albert IO has provided them with that extra help that other more privileged students have easy access to and utilize effectively. Your generosity has provided our students with a pathway to success, through this program that better prepares them for the college exams.

Since we started using the program, the students have experienced higher test scores and greatly increased their understanding of the important concepts necessary for scoring higher on those high stakes exams. For example, one of the hardest concepts in mathematics is solving word problems, which involves not only understanding what the problem is asking but taking the concepts that have been learned and applying them. This preparation program that your generous donations have provided our students, has allowed them to practice and be more prepared to be successful when taking the tests.

There aren't enough words to express how grateful my students and I are for your kindness and consideration. Once again, thank you so much for helping our students.”

    With gratitude,

  • Help My Students Become Computer Scientists!

    Funded May 2, 2017

Since returning from the professional development that I was so lucky to have been awarded because of your generosity, I am much better equipped and more qualified to facilitate computer science learning in my classroom. I have noticed that students are more engaged and excited with the cutting edge curriculum that I was trained in implementing.

This best part of the professional development was meeting and networking with teachers from all over the country. Being able to share not only best practices but also solutions to common problems that students encounter in the course was one of the best aspects of the time I spent there. More importantly, my belief that every student can learn computer science and programming was reinforced by the rich and productive discussions we had during the process. It was enlightening to know that many other teachers shared my views and were open to learning new methods and skills to advance the learning of all students no matter what their background.

My students and I are very grateful for your donations and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

  • Algebra Anxiety

    Funded Jun 12, 2013

There is nothing more rewarding then seeing the look on my students' faces when they receive a new technological tool. The excitement can sometimes be overwhelmingly emotional as I'm reminded that without the generosity of individuals such as you, my students would not be given the same opportunity as other teens with a more affluent background. My students and I wholeheartedly thank you for your kindness. We want you to know that the IPAD you donated is being used to explore and investigate mathematical concepts for a more thorough understanding. The ability to employ this wonderful tool in our classroom has increased curiosity and engagement, which equals more leaning. In turn, this will help them gain equal footing, so they too can live a productive and prosperous adulthood. Once again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

  • The College Dream

    Funded Oct 29, 2012

    I

It's amazing to me how a new piece of technology can excite and engage students in the classroom! Your donation of a document camera has helped my students reach a greater understanding of the important Geometric concepts. It is extremely satisfying to be able to model concepts while facing my students, instead of with my back to them as I write on the board.

My students and I can't thank you enough for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Without kind people like yourself, many students would not be able to experience 21st century learning. With heartfelt thoughts, we send you our thanks!”

  • Geometry Gridlock

    Funded Oct 29, 2012

It is difficult to fully quantify the gratitude that my students and I have for your kindness and consideration. Not having the necessary tools to instruct and model geometric concepts is a problem that many teachers, such as I, face every day. However, thanks to your generous donation, my classroom will be equipped with these necessary tools. It is such a pleasure to watch them participate in the activities that are in the book "Cooperative Learning," and use the patty papers to explore geometric concepts. In addition, having one more graphing calculator in the classroom allows more students to have access to this important tool. Once again thank you so much for your donation. It is truly appreciated.”

  • Calculus Crunch

    Funded Sep 8, 2012

Words cannot express the gratitude my students and I have for your generous donation.

The look on their faces when we began using the Interactive System will forever be entrenched in my mind. It's amazing how students will respond when introduced to a new, more involved method of learning. They could hardly wait to go up to the board and solve the mathematical problems.

Your amazing consideration proves that all it takes is for someone like you to believe in these students and they will respond in a positive and productive manner. They begin to hope because someone really cares enough to provide them with the same advantage that others have. Thanks to you, they now have the necessary confidence to tackle the difficult subject of AP Calculus.”

  • College Ready

    Funded Jul 27, 2012

With heartfelt thanks, I want you to know that your generous donation has made a huge difference in my classroom. I am now able to demonstrate to the entire class at once how to use a graphing calculator, instead of individually. This, in turn, has afforded me the time to assist students one-on-one with the more difficult mathematical concepts.

My students are so grateful for this technology that is giving them the opportunity to master the subject. Without your kindness and consideration, students who previously struggled and felt lost are now more comfortable and hopeful for their future.

Once again, thanks from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness will always be remembered and will surely be rewarded.”

    With gratitude,

  • The Road to College

    Funded Aug 13, 2012

As a mathematics teacher, I am privileged to assist students on a daily basis in understanding the important concepts of AP Calculus. Unfortunately, witnessing their struggles and many attempts to solve problems without graphing calculators, was not a rewarding experience. The look of frustration on their faces was heartbreaking.

However, thanks to your generous donations and support all this has changed. Their faces, as they use the calculators, are now filled with joy. Their frustration is now replaced with the look and feeling of accomplishment as they experience the "aha" moments in class.

My students and I wholeheartedly thank you for your kindness and consideration. Your gifts will be used to help them live their dream of going to college.”

My school is a high school that caters to students who have made mistakes in their past, but who just need someone to believe in them and give them another chance. It's located in a low socioeconomic community where teens are forced to make difficult choices, such as working to help their families or staying in school and getting a college education. Our students would be the first person in their family to attend college and need all the support we can provide.
