  • Hunger Pangs!

    Funded Nov 17, 2023

My learners and I are very grateful for your donation. Our scholars arrive at school as early as 6:40 am. They have breakfast during that time then begin classes at 8:00 am. They do not have another opportunity for a meal before noon. That is a long time for young minds to be without food. This is why the snacks you donated to our classrooms were helpful for our scholars.

Snacks were split between all four teachers on the team. That way whenever a learner needed a snack it did not matter the classroom they were in. Thisi allowed for students to have access. My learners were excited and thankful for the snacks. Some students said they were happy to be on our team because they knew they had people who cared about them. One parent was very excited and said how grateful she was that she did not have to worry about her son having to wait so long to eat. In fact at the promotion ceremony parents all commented on the snacks and asked if I ever considered a classroom food pantry. I am considering it for the upcoming school year. Thanks so much for the support of our classroom.”

  • Translation Station!

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation of translation pens and language dictionaries to our classrooms. We are grateful for your support in ensuring equity for our monolingual scholars.

During my biology lessons I use PowerPoint slides with translations on it. The student notes also have translations but the majority of the notes are in English. My monolingual learners have to transfer the information into English. When they're charged with completing the independent task, the language dictionary can become cumbersome. This is where the AI translation pens are a lifesaver. Now instead of translating word for word, the pen allow them to translate entire sentences and phrases.

My scholars are now more engaged and participate more in class. They raise their hands when it's time to share because their confidence has been boosted. I have one student who never participated before and now he shares out, helps his other Spanish speaking peers and do not mind being partnered with the English speaking students. His confidence has skyrocketed. Another student, she is still shy but always make sure to see me every morning to collect her pen (I let her travel with hers). Her reading teacher says, that she has seen more engagement from her since using the pen. I have so many monolingual learners and know that I'll be creating another project to receive more pens. They are amazing tools. You are a lifesaver for donating them to us.”

  • Holiday Sweet Treats!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for your support of our classroom community. Our learners were really excited about receiving a sweet treat and holiday stocking. Because of your generous donation, our learners were able to take home a special gift for the holiday break.

Learners were very excited about receiving fruit snacks, skittles and rice krispy treats. The one thing they were most excited about was the Taki's. Learners gravitated towards those first. It brought so much joy. Thanks for your support.”

Thank you for your support of our classroom community. Our learners were really excited about having cloud florescent light covers in the room. They said the room is now "chill"!

The other resources like the headphones and loose leaf paper were also a huge hit. The learners really got a kick out of choosing a specific color since the package was multicolored.

  • Quizizz Madness!!!

    Funded Aug 4, 2022

Our learners are very competitive and your generous donation towards the purchase of a Quizizz subscription is very much appreciated. Our learners have been super excited ever since they learned we were able to secure a school wide account. They love the competition and the immediate feedback they receive when we use this program.

Learners prefer Quizizz over any of our other game based learning tools and often pout when they realize we're not using it. It is our goal to somehow secure this program every year so that our students continue to thrive.”

  • Science Composition

    Funded Jul 9, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. Our learners have been excited to know that there are people out there who support them and are willing to provide supplies to help them be successful in the classroom.

The tissues come in handy daily. Because of the residual effects of Covid and all of the illnesses that children bring with them into the classroom, tissues are now an essential supply for classrooms.

Thank you for all that you do for learners every day. We are in awe of your support.”

  • Science Fair Energy!

    Funded Jul 3, 2022

We are truly grateful for the donations of science fair boards, headphones and notebooks to our classroom. They have been very beneficial to us. Because of the demographic of our school, it is often challenging for students to be able to acquire the supplies needed to be successful. Being able to supply every 5th grader with the science fair boards needed to complete their science fair project, allowed us to see an increase in the number of students completing their project. In addition to helping more students complete their project, your donation also enabled students to not feel left out when they have to be engaged on online activities. The headphones provided students the opportunity to utilize accessibility tools like read aloud when completing assignments online. Thanks again for your support and generous donation to our classroom.”
