The Second Screen For Learning, Please!
Funded Dec 24, 2020It is my honor and privilege to be a New York City public a school teacher. In these times we all need a little help. Thank you so much for giving me the second screen I need to support my students learning. This year has started unlike any other. Instead of in person we are meeting virtually in a whole new world. It is hard for my students to learn but by allowing me a way to organize, sort and plan engaging activities, while I can see my students working has helped so much. By using the two screens our lessons and programs run so much better. It has even helped my support of other teachers in my school and being able to show them how to help students during this time. There is so much to be thankful for during hard times and I am so thankful to all of you.”

This has been a wonderful project that has allowed me to share with my students and students around my school literature that reflects themselves. Books that they can see themselves in. It is always important to be respected and represented and with this literature we now have the chance to do that. Thank you so much for supporting my project!”

It has been amazing being able to levy the use of technology innovations with my students. I was able to show my students their new Robot during our virtual meets. My students were so interested and amazed at what it could do. I feel so privileged to be able to bring these resources to them. When they first saw the Sphero Bolt light up, I had so many smiling faces. As we move on next year, I am hoping to have students face to face and using the Sphero Bolt in our own classroom. I cannot wait to see the amazing and innovative codes they use to program the robots and how this will shape our learning. Thank you.”

New Technology is one of the hardest parts of being a teacher and keeping up with modern times. Using technology with my students shows us that despite their disabilities they are able to get an equitable and equal access to education as their non-disabled peers. When my students have an iPad in their hands anything is possible because the world no longer has the same boundaries it once did. I have set up the iPad ready for next year and have shown students the new apps we put on it by broadcasting on our google meets. We are all excited and ready for school to start again and for us to use it. I just had to thank you because just watching the smiles as I showed them what we are going to try, I know it will be such a powerful learning tool next year. Thank you all!”

Funded Oct 23, 2020It is my honor and privilege to be a New York City public a school teacher. In these times we all need a little help. Thank you so much for giving me the supplies I need to support my students learning. This year has started unlike any other. Digital resources are essential in order to meet the needs of my students. It is like working an extra job just to find, gather and create resources. By giving this TPT gift card, I have been able not only to help my classroom but other teachers in my school by sharing these resources, which in turn supports students across my entire organization. Students have been loving the run resources we have found. From digital escape rooms to boom learning decks. students are engaged in the learning and that is thanks to your help. Thank you so much for your kindness and helping during these difficult times.”

Funded Sep 14, 2020It is my honor and privilege to be a New York City public a school teacher. In these times we all need a little help. Thank you so much for giving me the supplies I need to support my students learning. This year has started unlike any other. There are no supplies for remote learning and many of my students do not have the necessary supplies at home in order to complete work and projects. These care packages make such a difference for my students and their families. My students are fully remote and many of their families chose this due to having medical conditions that put their child at risk. Thank you again for your kindness and consideration. I am so happy that you decided to support me and my students. It means the world to me.”

Sadly, we had planned to use the WeDo kit in March for our unit but after introducing it to students, due to COVID we had to start remote learning. I am greatly looking forward to continuing this work next year with students. My students were happy and excited and I am sure that excitement will build until we see each other again.”

My students love OSMO and have been using it in our daily lessons. Osmo allows them to work on vocabulary words for STEM, math concepts around the subjects and learning basic code principles and how to code using Coding with Awbie. This is their first coding experince and they are jumping in without hesitation. Osmo allows my students to have an engaging experience exploring Science and STEM content in a multi-sensory approach meeting the different learning needs of my students. Thank you for your kindness and support!”

I have already started using the sensory tiles and it is starting to make a difference for my students. Students who are in sensory overload are able to use them to self-soothe and get back to our lesson. We also use them for our lessons to show how colors mix and how force causes the colors in the tiles to move. They are so wonderful on so many different levels. These will allow my students to have an engaging experience exploring Science and STEM and keep control of their senses. Thank you for your kindness!”
