  • Learning STEAM in the Classroom

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

My students love the 3-d pens. They have created so many amazing things.

It teaches them patience and perseverance because it takes time and practice.

It also integrates the arts with learning.

We have created airplanes, turkeys, flowers and more. We have also practiced our spelling and writing with the pens.

It is also a great motivator when students have completed all their work for the week, they get free time on Friday and have the option to use the pens during free time.

My students thank you very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Abelson

  • PPE for Today to Help Keep the Germs Away

    Funded Oct 8, 2021

Thank you so much for donating cleaning supplies to my classroom. My students now have a safe environment to learn in. When we feel safe both physically and emotionally we grow as learners.

The Clorox wipes help keep surfaces clean. We wipe down the tables and chairs daily. The paper towels and soap ensure that when we wash our hands they are clean. Very often the bathroom does not have soap. How can we wash properly?

The masks ensure that we are protected and keep each other safe by always having our faces covered.”

    Ms. Abelson

  • Stay Safe. Breathe Clean.

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you for donating to my project. Having the air purifier in my classroom ensures that my students are learning in the safest environment possible.

With all the fears of today, you helped to give peace of mind to myself and my students so they can learn in the safest classroom possible.

Without social emotional learning and knowing that you are in a safe place, physically as well as emotionally students will not do their best learning.

Your donation to create the safest learning environment possible.”

    Ms. Abelson

  • Kids Picked Their Own Titles!

    Funded Oct 30, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to my project. My students love to read and they especially love to read books that they got to pick out! This increased student enjoyment for reading as well as student engagement. The student's joy and excitement when they saw the books that they picked out was amazing. Anything to get them excited about reading it worth it.

My students struggle in reading. To see their joy and engagement means so much more. Having series books has also been beneficial, when they find a book they like, they can continue to read in the series.”

    With gratitude,

  • "What Did You Say?"

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank you so much for the AirPods. They have been so helpful during remote teaching. They let me have privacy while teaching. Before AP everyone in the house would hear the students' talking and learning. Now, my family members can focus on their work and I can focus on mine.

It makes for a much quieter more peaceful working environment during this crazy COVID time. I am so appreciative of your generosity during this pandemic. Anything that makes remote teaching a bit easier for myself and my students is greatly appreciated.

Every little bit counts and is extremely helpful.”

  • Device Dying: Please Help!

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

Thank you so much for the computer, especially during this time of remote learning and COVID. It has made teaching so much easier! The kids know that they will see me live daily and as you can see, they are doing their work. We are communicating via Zoom and I truly believe they are still getting a great education.

They have the reliability of a computer that works and don't have to worry about potential technical difficulties that arise with an old computer.

We all are extremely grateful during this extremely difficult time to have generous donors, to help make distance learning that much easier.”

    With gratitude,

  • Books, Books, and More Books!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

As a special education teacher reading is so fundamental. Fostering the love for reading at an early age is so important. With a variety of genres of books it makes it much easier for kids to engage and find books that they are interested in.

Most of the reading in my classroom is small group work. We all read the same book in a group, respond to questions and talk about the book. We also engage in reading techniques that may not be taught in the general education classroom, so reluctant readers really need to find books they LOVE.

My kindergarten students love Piggie and Elephant books. They are even asking for the books to be read to them remotely.

Thank you so much for your generosity!”
