Technology to Be Collaboratively and Digitally Savvy
Funded Aug 27, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so very much for your generous support in donating to this project. In this technology age, many schools are on a one to one (take home) laptops/Chromebooks wherein their classwork and homework are done almost all digitally. Unfortunately, our school is not at this stage yet. Having these 6 Chromebooks in our classroom and being able to use them on a regular basis help our students be more tech savvy and less intimidated by technology in an academic sense.
Since the installment of the Chromebooks, our class has used Google Classroom (with their email addresses) and it has allowed them to type up their writing assignments and turn them in digitally. We are doing lessons on typing to formatting to framing and re-framing sentences to make more sense. The scholars are able to make corrections on their papers and revise and edit their writing.
We hope to do more using the Chromebooks. I would like to teach them how to make Powerpoint presentations, and slideshows to show off their hard work and knowledge gained in the classroom. I would like to provide more collaboration in the classroom using the Chromebooks as they generate projects for various subjects.
I thank you again for your generosity and for making a difference, not only for this class but for future classes that I will teach.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Delgado

Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you very much for our Kindle's, private offices, books, and pens for class. We are so grateful for these resources that we use everyday in English Language Arts, math, writing, and reader's workshop. With the Kindle, we are able to practice our reading and comprehension, place value, grammar, and sight words on a daily basis.
We are so excited to start school and feel success while "playing a game!" We have very limited technology resources so having these, even though we have to share with each other, allows for us to learn to navigate different apps and learning games geared towards our success. We are also able to use the leveled reading books for our enjoyment to practice reading and comprehension and sharpen our reading stamina. We have used the pens for writer's workshop and are now writing our all-about books with these pens and are excited be authors ourselves!
This project has provided wonderful resources for our scholars and we are ready to continue learning and growing in class!”

Mrs. Delgado
Authors Galore
Funded Apr 15, 2014My students were super ecstatic about receiving the materials for the Authors Galore Project. They are excited to be almost finished with their last book, an autobiography about their favorite things to do, eat, and enjoy on their free time. We cannot wait to be finished with all of our drafts and start typing up these new books to share with everyone at school. We hope that some of you may be able to visit with us to read our books that we wrote ourselves. We are ready to preview our potential with the world around us! Thank you for making this happen for us!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Delgado

Funded Jan 28, 2014Thank you so much for funding the first part of "Writers in Training"! Your generosity has provided our scholars with amazing resources to write and illustrate with and the results show in the images from this project. In our author celebration, where the scholars got the opportunity to share their finished books with other grade level classmates and students from kindergarten, 1st, and 5th grades, the feelings of pride and accomplishment were evident in their radiant faces.
Thank you for making this possible for my scholars!”

Tools For School Success!
Funded Feb 17, 2013On behalf of our class and our school, we would like to give a heart felt thanks to you for providing better access to creativity and tools for success in school. Your donation has come a long way and will continue to give our scholars the simple means to achieving their dreams. With your donations, they will be better prepared for school each day. With your donations, they will see what it is like to have their own tools for school and learn how to utilize them well.
First grade is one of the foundational years in learning and these tools are instruments in teaching the scholars on how to use materials for school properly. With these necessary tools, the scholars will learn how to take ownership of their items, take care of each material, and take this learning to the next grade and beyond. Being organized is important and teaching the scholars at a young age will assist them in their collegiate years.
We would, again, like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your generosity.”

Reading Literacy is the Key!
Funded Nov 16, 2010It is with heartfelt gratitude that I write this letter on behalf of my students. The leveled reading books and library set provided us by YOU has had a tremendous impact on the growth of my students. Not only do I have students improve their reading and decoding abilities but I have students who have surpassed the grade reading level and it is all thanks to YOU, our generous donors.
This year has been tremendously challenging for our students, our school, and our district overall. The budget cuts and lack of funds have definitely impacted our school community in every way. Your contribution has provided resources that would never have been available to us and, thus, allow for success and growth in each student.
Thank you very much for your generosity and contribution! We have better readers and scholars because of YOU!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Delgado
