  • Social-Emotional Learning Tools & Games

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

I am so thankful for you continued support for our counseling program and amazing students. These tools and games have been so helpful for our students to expand their knowledge of social emotional learning. They have utilized the fidgets in individual counseling sessions. We have used the games to build social relationships and learn important social skills like taking turns and working with others. Playdoh is used for play therapy, storytelling or expressing themselves through artwork. We are so excited to continue to help our students grow.”

  • Social Emotional Reading About Diversity

    Funded Aug 9, 2020

Thank you so much for your contribution to this project. I have really enjoyed being able to discuss these important issues with my students. I plan on creating classroom and small group lessons and using these books as a guiding force to help structure and shape these lessons.

Learning about diversity and how to celebrate our differences is so important to students. I think it is helpful to utilize reading material to help mold and shape the minds of students to better understand topics of diversity and relate to characters in books by sharing their own experiences.

    Thank you again!”

  • Therapeutic Reading Tools for Student Growth

    Funded Jul 29, 2020

I want to send my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution to our school. I use therapeutic reading tools very often in working to teach students about social emotional learning topics. Today more than ever, these lessons are needed. My goal is to reach each and every one of my students and provide them with quality material to teach them and you helped make that happen.

I am excited to help students learn how to take deep breaths appropriately to calm, teach them about emotional regulation & how to spread kindness. We are so excited to grow and learn more about ourselves and others.”

  • Therapeutic Reading for Social Emotional Growth and Development

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. I think therapeutic resources have been helpful for growing our program. Our students utilize therapeutic books to learn about therapeutic concepts and to be able to relate them to their own lives. This allows growth to occur in a fun, calm and exciting way.

I am really excited to continue helping our students grow and learn about themselves by utilizing these resources in the classroom. We learn about topics like anger management, mindfulness, conflict resolution and how to build friendships and empathy.

You have made a huge difference, thank you again!”

  • Snacks for Brain Power

    Funded Jan 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your donations to our school. Whenever we have projects funded, we feel so special and supported by our community and wonderful people all across the country. I have had multiple snack projects funded and every time, our staff sees the direct impact it has on our students ability to focus and learn at school. We utilize snacks for so many positive things throughout the school day; if a student accidently missed breakfast or woke up too late, for rewards for positive behavior or to celebrate a passed test or class, or even just to build a positive relationship with a student by taking a snack break with them.

What you have given has allowed us to help shape our students, we are very grateful.”

  • School Garden for Food Security

    Funded Aug 27, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to our special school project. We have had so much fun this year growing and building our garden. It has brought all of our students and staff together. We have been able to utilize all of the garden kits to give each student an individual tool set to be responsible for.

So far we have grown tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, bell peppers, lettuce, spinach and all kinds of herbs. We are so excited about how this project has not only allowed us learn more about eating healthy and hard work; but it has also allowed us to build positive relationships with one another.

Thank you again for contributing to growing our minds & bodies.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montgomery

  • Sensory Breaks for Focused Brains!

    Funded Apr 16, 2019

Thank you all so much for your generous donations to our project. Our children are definitely benefiting from sensory supports in the classroom or during therapy group. Our students are also practicing guided meditation once a week. Our students love the cushions to sit on when they are trying to focus. They also use items like the kinetic sand, putty and water orbies for sensory play and to take a calming break. As our students grow and learn they are able to learn more about their bodies and their minds through these tools.

    Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

  • Hungry Bellies Can't Learn and Grow

    Funded Dec 21, 2018

Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom, it means so much to our little school! Our school day is sometimes challenging and students are often times struggling to be there and engage.

Most of our students are boys, and growing boys. They are very motivated by snacks throughout the school day. These are the times where having these resources at our fingertips becomes vitally important to the well being of our students. Growing bodies need to be nourished in order for them to be able to focus, move forward and succeed.

Thank you again for all of your kindness and generosity.”

  • Therapeutic Reading Helps Build Happy Hearts.

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

I'd like to thank you all for donating to this project for our little school. It has helped us tremendously, especially in our therapeutic program. I have been trying to build up our new mental health program to better serve our students and give our students the ability to learn about themselves and grow. Much of this comes through utilizing resources such as these reading materials.

This year at school, I have also began working with our life skills group, doing social skills and working on building friendships and identifying feelings. These books have been a tremendous assist in communication about feelings while keeping the students engaged.

Thank you so much again for your generous contribution to my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montgomery

  • Build Those Skills!

    Funded Mar 10, 2018

We are extremely grateful for your contribution to our classroom. Our students have utilized all of the materials that were donated. We have used the colored pencils, playdoh and construction paper to create tools to help manage our feelings of anger, sadness and frustration. We have also used these materials to create a school-wide project called the "I Am" project. This allowed our students to get to know one another by finding positive words to describe themselves to their peers.

Our students have enjoyed playing all of the games, including Uno and The Knot; in peer groups with guidance and instruction from staff to improve social skills.

Your donation made such a difference and all of us from ALPHA truly thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montgomery

Our students do a really great job utilizing coping skills, asking for breaks and communicating what they need to staff. We always like to make sure our children's basic needs are met first, that way they are able to focus more on academic and therapeutic work time. Our students greatly benefit from snacks throughout the school day. We use them with positive reinforcement, as well as encourage them to ask for a snack break to calm. In donating to this project, our students will receive some of their favorite snacks to be available to them throughout the school day. This would greatly help them become better learners and succeed.
