  • An iMac for All!

    Funded May 24, 2018

You are all amazing and have done a lot of good for the students at my school. The impact is immeasurable and will benefit the students for years to come. I cannot stress how profound my gratitude is and the sense of pride I have in the learning atmosphere that you have all helped me create.

    Thank you.”

  • The Complete Classroom iPad Set!

    Funded Feb 17, 2018

Once again, your generosity (and promptness!) is a stunner and so much appreciated!! This project will make both an immediate and long lasting difference in the classroom experience of my students.

They have recently begun an animal research project, and these resources will expedite our ability to finish, publish, and share the outcomes.

    We really are humbly thankful...”

  • Interactive Whiteboard for Student Engagement!

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

Wow! You are so quick!! I'm very grateful for all the support. I think the students are really going to enjoy these new materials and the engagement that comes with them.

I especially look forward to discovering the variety of activities that we can do with the interactive whiteboard especially.”

  • Chromebooks to Catalyze Curricular Cognizance!

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

Thank you so much for donating these Chromebooks to our classroom. The students, of course, love them and have been using them almost daily during our centers rotations and during free time.

Until now, the students have been familiarizing themselves with the use of the touchpad, keyboard, and internet basics by going to educational websites to practice literacy skills and read about science mostly.

We are, however, going to "step it up" soon and the students are going to be researching an animal to become an expert, write a research report, and publish a book. The students learn to work hard over a period of time and the payoff, their book, is always something they get really excited about; and it is fun because they get to use the Chromebooks to do so (in the past, they've had to bide their time waiting for one of our few iPads or big, clunky desktops. I'm happy to report that the desktops are no longer taking up valuable space as large dust magnets!).

Anyhow, so... HUGE improvement to the ability to work (and the work environment) in our classroom. The students and I really appreciate it.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Younger

  • We Put The I In iPad!! Independent! Intelligent! Imagination!

    Funded Oct 12, 2016

Thank you so much for helping to fund the iPads to create a new technology center in my classroom. As stated in the purpose for this project, the students are now able to work independently on these devices while I am working to target the needs of other individuals in the class.

They work on specifically-chosen apps (chosen by me, of course) to target their own needs while having fun. Additionally, they have learned to do internet research and have recently finished a classroom book, Our Amazing Animals, that demonstrates these new research skills in a full color, published book.

Again, thank you so much for making a difference.”

    Mr. Younger

  • Learning by OSMO-sis! Volume II

    Funded Oct 21, 2016

Thank you so much for helping to fund the new Osmo coding game, creative set, and iPad gift for my classroom. As planned, these games have enabled my students to work independently (while I am working hard with others, targeting specific needs) to foster their own creativity - in the case of the Monster set, and technology education - in the case of the coding set.

Not only all this, but the students are, of course, always excited by this learning center. They are eager to get their and are motivated to do other work in order to "earn" this privilege.

Again, thank you for donating to my class and helping to make a difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Younger

  • Better Than the Interactive Whiteboard!

    Funded Mar 17, 2016

    Dear Donors,

The technology you contributed to my classroom is amazing. Allow me to try and briefly describe it for you. With the Apple TV, projector, and iPad that you funded, I can project anything from the iPad to the screen, wirelessly, from anywhere in the classroom. This means any educational app or game, any instructional video, any research or Internet exploration, or any image or document I choose - or that the students would like or need to see.

Not only this, but among the apps that I have procured are interactive-whiteboard applications that I can use with students that "overlay" writing, doodling, etc. to anything we are viewing on the whiteboard. I have used this technology a LOT already; but I feel I've only begun to scratch the surface. The students are more engaged when I am using this technology, but when they get to use it - forget about it! They are so involved - "interactive" defined!!

Lastly, there is an app that I use that takes any image/video/sound/software that happens on my laptop and brings it to the iPad for projecting to the class. Honestly, the options are infinite...

... and this is all thanks to you.”

  • New Library Needed!

    Funded Mar 17, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Before your contribution, my classroom library was a mess of books that we tried to keep on the shelves in as orderly a fashion as we were capable of.

Now, when we finish folding my former library books into the current system, my library books will be leveled for guided reading, separated fiction from non-fiction (very important for common core understanding of literature!), and systematically marked and manageable for first grade use. I can tell a student where to grab from for maximum learning efficacy, and that student can grab either a book or a small box of books all at his/her challenge or comfort level. Last but certainly not least, students can not only keep the library maintained themselves - but they will develop an understanding why it is organized the way it is - which is understanding a lot!

Oh, and you over doubled the size of my library!

    Thank you so much.”

  • STEM Activity Bonanza!

    Funded Mar 14, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for donating to the causes of science, technology, engineering, and math in my classroom. Now, when students play, they are discovering, creating, exploring, building, and imagining beyond what they were capable of before your contribution. During free time - even during recess and lunch sometimes, students are staying in to construct elaborate structures to use gravity or setting up figures to bend light with mirrors. They are seeing how levers and gears can help move items or composing physical cause-and-effect obstacle courses for marbles. They are working with balance and weight to compare items and quantities; or the exploring the wonders of magnetic force.

Free time and playtime have both become more learning oriented and it is because of you.

    Thank you.”

  • Bring Audible Silence to Our Classroom and Technology

    Funded Jun 2, 2016

These headphones really are amazing! Each child in my classroom has his/her own pair. Each headphone has its own cord that can plug into either side of the headphone, into a device or musical instrument, or into the headphones of another student for paired or group listening - all 23 students can listen to one thing if we'd like!!!

Not only this, but each student has his/her own little hanging bag and hook that belongs to him/her (I numbered everything so we don't get "confused"). Whenever it's time to use a computer, a tablet, or a musical instrument, the students simply know to go grab their headset and get going!!

All of this is thanks to you, the donors. It has changed the atmosphere (and noise level) in here immensely and for the better. Now, the centers and activities that are supposed to make noise don't have to compete with those that are not. The students love using the headphones and adding another ounce of independence and responsibility to their instructional day.

    Thank you.”

    Mr. Younger
