  • O Printer, My Printer, Wherefore Art Thou?

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom. Since we have received the printer, my students do not have to wait to walk halfway across the school to print out their digital projects and other coursework. The printer has greatly reduced time spent out of the classroom since we are no longer waiting to print out homework and other assignments. Since the printer is located in my classroom, I can print out assignments and other materials quickly and with ease, which increases the instructional time I can now spend with my students teaching them what they need. The students and I are so grateful. Thanks again!

    Sincerely,

    Robert Winfree”

  • WARNING! Technology Required for Gifted Greatness!!!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Words cannot describe how much of an impact your graciousness and generosity have meant in funding my grant proposal to receive 5 Chrome Book Computers for my classroom. I work in an inner-city middle school in the Urban Atlanta, Georgia area and our school does not receive enough funding to purchase computers such as these in order for my students to be Digital Natives and also be College and Career Ready. As you can see from the pictures I downloaded, we started using the Chrome Book computers as soon as we received them and it has made such a difference in my classroom in that my students are more engaged and definitely more excited about all the new things they can learn. Your generosity allowed my Gifted Classroom to be a 21st Century Classroom filled with myriad resources allowing them to explore a world of learning and opportunities that they wouldn't have exposure to without these computers. Finally, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you so much for your generosity in funding my project. It has truly made a lifelong impact on my students' life.”

  • Fifth Grade Gifted Gurus!

    Funded May 27, 2016

The technology I received has helped increase student motivation, student achievement, and student creativity. My students are willing to step out of their comfort zone and are excited to use the laptops we received from the project to complete the required coursework and homework. A majority of my students don't have such technology at home, so they are eager to learn the content using computers and, as a result, student achievement has increased over 200% since we received the computers. My students are also required to complete eClass homework, which is homework that has to be completed on a computer or other electronic device at home, and they not only have to complete the homework, but they also have to post their answers, and comment on at least two of their classmates' answers. The technology has definitely increased all of my students' eagerness to learn and succeed, and I have seen the difference the technology has made in my classroom. For example, I have a higher percentage of both homework and coursework completion than I did before I received the technology, and also, student mastery of the required learning objectives has increased immensely. Thank you so much for your generosity! I look forward to writing additional grant proposals to receive resources through Donors Choose so that my students will have even more access to these 21st century technological devices as I have anecdotal evidence that they increase student mastery of learning objectives they are required to learn. Finally, I have also noticed that my students have a much higher retention rate of the curriculum when they learn the classwork through digital resources rather than the older, traditional method of worksheets and "drill and kill" methods that were used in the past. Thank you so much for these resources! It has definitely had a positive impact in my classroom!”

  • Advanced Students Racing to Find Challenging Activities!!!

    Funded Aug 30, 2011

This letter serves as a small token of my appreciation for your generous donation to my classroom. I am so thankful for the science supplies and furniture that were purchased for my students. Without these supplies, my students would not have been able to experience the joy of learning through inquiry-based science experiments. In addition, my students have really excelled using these materials and a passion for learning has been ignited amongst my wonderful group of students. My students and I are so grateful because these materials have made it possible for me to teach new skills that connect real-world science skills to everyday life. Without generous donors like you, many students would go without.

Thank you again for your generous donation.”

  • CSI Lab for Gifted Minds

    Funded May 3, 2009

Words cannot express how grateful my students and I are for funding this valuable classroom project. Our program has experienced significant budget cuts and money is scarce for special projects. Also, with the economy in it's current situation, we have seen increased students coupled with fewer teachers, which makes it even harder to keep students of today motivated. With your help, my students have been able to go above and beyond what they would have learned and I have seen such an added increase in student motivation because of your generous donation. Thanks again for all you do to support teachers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Winfree
