Incentives For Young Musicians, Artists, and Athletes
Funded Jan 24, 2021During this trying time in our world it has been more difficult than ever to help our students feel comfortable and confident in the classroom. Your donation has enabled us to bring some incentives to these students and help encourage their positive behavior and learning participation.
My students were so excited when they were introduced to the new reward system. As we showed them the prizes and rewards the room filled with "ohhhs" and "ahhhs" that were reminiscent of the sounds we have all become used to in elementary school. Your gift helped my students feel a little more excitement for school and decreased some of their negative feelings about the "Covid" school year.
They are all wearing masks but you could easily see their smiles through the protective face coverings. Thank you for that!”

Mr. Van
Creating Music Through Touch and Interaction
Funded Oct 16, 2019Thanks for your help bringing this project to life. The iPad that we now use has transformed our music room in a variety of ways.
First off, this iPad has basically turned our large display into an interactive whiteboard without the need for the actual whiteboard. Students can write and create on the iPad while sharing it wirelessly to our large display for all student to see. Apps that support whiteboard files make this an extra bonus and kids are loving it.
The students are very excited to be able to see their work appear for the entire class as they are creating it. This has increased participation as well. I've seen students that were not interested in the activity suddenly find it more interesting once technology was added to this mix.
This has been such an awesome addition to our classroom. And we owe all the thanks to you for helping make it happen.”

Funded Mar 26, 2019First, let me start by saying thank you. It does not seem like enough in comparison to the help that you have given me and my classes. Knowing there are such generous people out there is heart warming and encouraging.
As a music teacher, one of my main goals is building confidence. While there are many ways to achieve this, one of the biggest tools is musical performance. When we perform we put ourselves out in front of an audience to be judged. Some will look at us with favorable eyes while others may be more critical. But the main thing for students to learn is to be confident enough to stand up and let their voice be heard. Positive or negative does not matter. To stand up and confidently perform for an audience is a victory.
It is hard to give that sparkling performance and display that new found confidence when you have sub-par equipment. The addition of quality speakers to our school allows for a clarity that we have been missing. Now when a student stands up in front of an audience we ALL get to experience their talent and confidence with crystal clear sound and the experience will be B-E-A-UTIFUL!”

Creating Memories One Performance At A Time
Funded Jan 25, 2019What a treat it was to hear that this project received such support and was completely funded. My students and I are forever grateful and more appreciative than we can express in words.
A camera like this can allow for new opportunities for my students when it comes to sharing performances and creating memories. We are now able to get high quality pictures and videos from student performances and programs that we can share with families and friends. It also allows students the opportunity to begin learning the basics of creating their own videos that can accompany their musical compositions through programs such as iMovie and Garageband.
The most exciting part of this project for the students is the plans for a music video unit where they can be the creator, director, and composer for their own project. The excitement over this type of unit is intense and has created quite the buzz in the classroom.
The choir students were particular excited when they found out that the camera would allow us to capture our Spring Concert and share with their families. Not everyone can make it to our concerts and being able to share the event through digital media at such high quality is exciting for both, the students and myself.
It is thanks to donors like you that my students will get these opportunities. For that I am forever thankful!”

Funded Jan 25, 2019Let me start by saying thank you. It is amazing to know that there are people out there willing to help so many teachers with fulfilling projects for their students. Words cannot ever truly express my gratitude for what you have done for my students and our school.
When I told the students about the project they were hopeful and excited. We have dealt with some old equipment for some time. When they came in the classroom and saw the new microphone stands set up in front they were thrilled. First reaction was "Can we touch them?" "When do we get to use them?" Well they got their chance to do both at our Spring Concert. After the concert I heard several students tell their parents "And we got to use our new mic stands." Microphone stands do not seem like an item that would cause too much excitement with younger students. But when you are used to dealing with equipment that is hanging together and barely making it from event to event getting new and updated equipment causes joy for even the youngest learners.
We have plans to use these microphone stands for future concerts, class recording projects and parent PTA programs. Thanks to you and your generous donation these high quality stands will be a part of our school for years to come.”

Funded Oct 2, 2018It is with the greatest gratitude that I write to thank you for your donation and generosity. A simple thank you does not seem to fully express the gratitude felt by my students and I for your act of kindness.
The addition of new iPads in our music room has had an immediate effect on our learning. They were put to use right away as student worked on creating and recording their own compositions. Younger students have found them to be exciting new ways to work on some basic music theory through the ever growing list of quality apps available.
To say my students were excited would be an understatement. We have some iPads in the music room. Most of them were purchased many years ago and do not offer the use of the newer apps due to no longer being supported or being able to be updated. The new iPads allow the students to use the newest and most advanced apps.
As the semester ended we were diving into some basic music theory and experimenting with Garage Band. Both of these things we will continue and expand upon as the new semester begins. We will also be using the iPads for music notation projects where students will be able to notate their composition, print, and take home their creations. This concept is becoming a reality for my students and has them very excited about what is to come next semester.
The excitement is real and the possibilities are huge...thanks to donors such as yourselves who made it happen for us.”

Funded Oct 2, 2018Let me start with a HUGE thank you. There are few words that can truly describe the gratitude felt when people come together to help our schools and, most importantly, our children and students. My students were ecstatic to know there are people out there that are eager to help them without ever meeting them.
This project brought some much needed microphones into our music program. Immediately upon their arrival they began being used in recording projects with my 5th graders. The students are able to record their own vocals into programs such as Garage Band to create original compositions. Students were excited to hear their compositions and creations come to life and be able to take them home in high quality recordings.
Most recently the microphones were used to mic our choir of 101 students for their winter concert. The sound quality was so impressive that the students were in awe to hear what they really sound like through quality equipment.
With these microphones we will continue to explore and create our own music in recorded formats and live performances. None of which would be possible without the support of people that see the value in what we are creating and composing.”

Funded Mar 9, 2017Let me start by saying "Thank You". This project has enabled us to start up a new enrichment program at our campus. Students already study the recorder in class. Many students become advanced players and need more challenge. These instruments provided from this project are just the challenge that they are seeking.
My students were very excited to start the after school class. They have been in awe over the instruments since they checked theirs out. The authentic sounds that each instrument creates has everybody "giddy".
We have started our enrichment class. Our goal is to have this group perform at our winter concert in December and spring concert in May.
Your generosity has made this possible and my students and I are very thankful!”

Disc Golf Enrichment for Young Athletes
Funded Dec 9, 2013IT is with great gratitude that we write you to say thanks for your generous gift to our students. The purchase of new disc golf equipment has been a hue boost to our program and very exciting for the students participating.
Originally, the discs were to be used for our after school disc golf club but this was so successful that all the students in the school have been participating in the sport and loving it. It is exciting to see young athletes outside learning a new sport that they can participate in even when they are not at school. The sport of disc golf is one that is affordable for even some of our most economically disadvantaged students.
Your generous donations have helped bring a new outdoor adventure to so many students that otherwise may not have such an experience. For that we thank you!
