A Whole New Galaxy of Student Engagement
Funded Feb 25, 2014I just wanted to let you know how grateful we are for the Samsung tablet. My students were so excited when it came and would not stop asking about it. Truth is they still ask. I use the tablet everyday in class. It serves as an easy way to access my Teacher's guide and move around the classroom. I use it to write on the promethean board using our school's wifi server. And my students' favorite is when I let them play "teacher" and use it to help other students.
We have been working hard to prepare for our end of the year testing. It has come in use for every skill we have covered. I have also found some apps that are fun to increase their computational fluency. The students have asked me to take pictures of them as they work or video of them using their devices in class to play math games. It is funny how technology in the classroom peaks their interests.
I look forward to continuing to use this tablet as we finish our school year and for years to come. My students are very thankful for the donations to their education and future students may not always understand how, but you have made an impact on them as well.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Timmons

Funded Nov 27, 2013I just wanted to let you know how grateful we are for the dry erase boards and markers. My students were so excited when they came and would not stop asking when we were we going to use them. Truth is they still ask. We use the boards about 2-3 times a week and the kids love it. I also love to use them because I can quickly see what each student is getting during the lesson.
We just recently finished a unit on fractions and we would use the boards to practice problems. It is amazing how the kids respond. They normally will start to complain after 2 or 3 examples when writing on paper, but using the boards and markers I have yet to hear one complaint. They quickly get to work and love to have me check their work. Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions became enjoyable for them.
I look forward to continuing to use these boards as we learn new material. My students are very thankful for the donations to their education and future students may not always understand how, but you have made an impact on them as well.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Timmons
