  • Ready, Set, Learn

    Funded Aug 17, 2018

Thank you so very much for the generous donations that allowed my students to have all the school supplies they needed to start the school year! They were so very excited to know that their parents would not have to worry about buying them notebooks, folders, pencils and other supply items. So many of my students worry that their parents will not be able to afford getting them the supplies they need! Your donations have made it possible for my students to have a very successful start to their school year!

Thank you again so very much! We appreciate all of you more than words can express!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zibell

  • DynaMath for Dynamite Math Students

    Funded Nov 14, 2017

Thank you so very much for the generous donations made to my students to enable us to get the Dynamath Magazine! It is a wonderful addition to learning math! The magazine gives my students the opportunity to explore how math is used in real life day to day activities! So many of my students do not get the opportunity to fully understand how important math is on our daily lives. They only think that math is used in school. This magazine will show them so much more!

Thank you again for giving my students this great opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zibell

  • Ready, Set, Learn!

    Funded Jul 21, 2017

Thank you so very much for your donations that made it possible for my class to have all the necessary school supplies for the beginning of the school year! Seeing the overjoyed expression on their faces when I told them that I had the necessary supplies for them to start off the year successfully, and where those supplies came from, was something to behold!

The students were so excited to know that many of their parents who cannot afford the necessary school supplies, now would not have to, meant the world to them!

Watching them put their names on each notebook and folder and neatly put away each pencil and eraser into their pencil cases, like they were a prized possession, made me feel so good!

Best of all was when I gave each of them their planner agendas and told them that they were the special, lucky students that had their own books to write their homework in that no one else in the school had! They were actually so excited about the homework thought, it made me laugh!

Thank you all once again for helping my students to have a successful start to the new school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zibell

  • A Clean Classroom makes for Healthy Students!

    Funded Jul 26, 2017

Thank you so very much for your donations that made it possible for my class to have all the necessary supplies for the beginning of the school year to keep us healthy! Seeing the overjoyed expression on their faces when I told them that I had the necessary supplies for them to start off the year healthy and hopefully germ free, and where those supplies came from, was something to behold!

The students were so excited to know that many of their parents who cannot afford to send in an extra package of cleaning wipes, now would not have to, meant the world to them!

Watching them clean off the tops of their desks with a cleaning wipe to make sure it was exactly how they wanted it was a great site!

Best of all for me was knowing that I now had the bandaids, hand sanitizer, brooms and other cleaning supplies to do my best to keep it as healthy as possible and keep myself and my students healthy, meant the world to me!

Thank you again so very much for your generous donations!”

  • Studying in the Real World with Scholastic News and SuperScience

    Funded Jul 14, 2017

Thank you so very much for your donations that made it possible for my class to have the great scholastic magazines for the beginning of the school year! Seeing the overjoyed expression on their faces when I told them that we would be learning more real world news in science and social studies made them so much happier than just learning from a book.

The students were so excited to know that they would be able to see and discuss first hand things that going on in our world today as it relates to science and social studies!

Best of all was when I told them that these magazines also carry over to sites we can use on the Internet, they were thrilled. My students rarely understand and/or talk about anything that is really go on in our world. These magazines and the websites that go with them, give them the greatest opportunities to broaden their minds and learn more about the happenings in their world!

Thank you all once again for helping my students to have a successful start to the new school year!”

  • "Hakuna Matata" Let's Take Our Musical Theater Group To Broadway

    Funded Jan 18, 2017

Incredible, amazing, extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime!! These are the only words that fit the experience that the Marin Musical Theatre students had on their trip to NYC to see The Lion King! We surprised the troupe with a video reveal with one of The Lion King cast members telling them that they would be going to see the show, having a question and answer set with cast members and also getting a backstage tour of The Lion King with some of the cast. The shocked look on the student's faces, along with the happy tears, made this reveal unbelievably special!! The day of the trip, the students bubbled with excitement, so many of them had never even been to NYC before. Our bus ride there was filled with anticipation and song. The kids kept us entertained on the ride. Watching their faces from the minute we got into Times Square, then into the Minskoff Theatre, and finally when the show began brought tears to my eyes. The students LOVED the show. The question and answer set after the show brought 14 cast members to meet the students, The questions the children asked the actors made me so proud of them. The backstage tour was so exciting for everyone. The kids were so excited to see the sets, props, costumes and learn about the behind the scenes of a great Broadway show!! The ultimate highlight of the entire day was when one of the cast members of The Lion King asked our troupe if they would like to perform a song and dance from the show they are rehearsing at school. The students glowed with pride and awe as they made their "debut" on a Broadway stage.

We cannot even begin to thank each and every person that donated to our grant! It is because of all of you that our Musical Theatre Troupe had a once in a lifetime experience that they will remember their entire lives!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zibell

  • Flexible Seating Will Help Us Succeed!

    Funded Sep 3, 2016

    Dear Donors,

I don't even know how to thank you all enough for your generous donations so we were able to get the material for this fabulous grant!! My students and I were so excited to know that they would have a new classroom environment to learn in this year!

When my students saw the bungo chairs they couldn't wait to get in them! They have told me they are so comfortable! I guess I should have asked for a few more! They will be taking turns in the two we have! They love to use them when they are having silent reading!

The high bar table and chairs has turned out to be the best buy from this grant! I have quite a few students that have a very hard time sitting in a chair all day. Being able to let them use the high table either sitting or standing there has helped them stay much more focused! One student told me, "I know I am going to have a better year in fifth grade than I did in fourth! I can take my breaks in class and not bother anyone by just going to the "collaboration table." I was so excited to hear this from him, because I knew this boy last year, and he had a rough year!

Thank you all again so very much for helping my students to start the year knowing they can have a successful year of NEW learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zibell

  • Ready, Set, Learn

    Funded Aug 18, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for your generous donations that made it possible to get the great supplies. My students, who come from very poor homes, will now be able to have the supplies they need to start the year successfully. I can't imagine what a child must feel like having to come to school knowing their parent couldn't afford to purchase them the supplies they needed to begin school.

No parent should have to choose between helping their child and paying a bill. Many of my student's parents are not able to get the simple supp plies like. pencils, notebooks and folders. When germ season comes in a few weeks, we will also have the Lysol disinfecting wipes to help keep our classroom germ free.

Thank you so much for all of your very generous help!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zibell

  • The Future is Here! Learning in New Ways!

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

How can a little two words like thank you be enough for the funding you gave me to get my grant funded! My students and I have enjoyed the Microsoft computers so much. They have given my students the opportunity to type, save and publish written works they have created. They have been able to practice their typing skills also. This may not seem like a big deal, but to a student that does not have a computer to practice on and then know they have to type to take the big state assessment test, has made many students so relieved!

Thank you again for the unbelievable donation. You have made it possible for my students in years to come also be able to enjoy using these computers!!”

  • Books, Books & More Books!

    Funded Feb 14, 2016

Thank you all so very much for your generous donations that allowed us to get such a great variety of books for the class to enjoy! My students are enjoying reading such wide varieties of genres this year! You donation made it possible for us to increase our selection even more! Many of the students favorites were included in the shipment. Some favorite titles that my students were excited about were Sadako and The Thousand Paper Cranes, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and many of the mystery books! Thank you for giving me the chance to continue to instill the love of reading into my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zibell

"I am a fifth grade teacher in a pre k-8th grade school. Most of my students come from very low economic family status. My students all come from lower income families. Many of these children face poverty, violence and obscenities of life on a daily basis, that are well beyond what most of us could imagine. Yet my students do their best to learn. I try my best to give them a good education and an introduction to the American way of life, but with limited resources there are many things that others consider basic parts of education that I cannot provide without assistance. Many of them do not come to school with the correct supplies needed to succeed. Their parents are not able to supply them with simple school supplies.
